f1ford48 Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 (edited) the Phaeton was built back to stock.lots of scratchbuilding including a complete interior and dash. the flathead and wheels from 1/18 diecast donors.tires from AMTs 64 Mustang. axles from the Entex model A. the coupe is almost box stock with the exception of steelies-also from entex Model A kit. I would like to ''unchop'' one of these and build it stock like the Phaeton. Edited December 23, 2013 by f1ford48
Casey Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Very cool to see these built stock (or as close as you can get with the chopped Coupe). The Phaeton looks a lot better than what's on the Revell box, that's for sure. Nice work.
Harry P. Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 What's the story behind all the holes in the doors on the phaeton? Missing trim strip?
f1ford48 Posted December 16, 2013 Author Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) the holes along the top mouldings on the doors are for the side curtins -as per the real car. no roll up windows on phaetons in 1934. Edited December 16, 2013 by f1ford48
sjordan2 Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Great work. The low-gloss paint really makes it look authentic.
Jantrix Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I had that phaeton kit when it first came out. Very late '80's styling. You did a remarkable job taking it to stock.
Harry P. Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 the holes along the top mouldings on the doors are for the side curtins -as per the real car. no roll up windows on phaetons in 1934. Oh, I see. Thanks.
gray07 Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Awesome job, i have the coupe built on my shelf, now u have me thinking of rebuilding it.
