Thanks everyone. I havent had a lot of time to make it to my friends house to work on this thing. I'm anxious to get it done though!

Bringing this one back from the dead for a bit.

I packed up all my building supplies and unfinished kits and brought them home from my friends house. The 60+ mile drive when I get the urge to build at 7:30 in the evening sure kills the mood. So, everything has sat packed up in my closet for a few months til I found the inspiration to drag it all back out. Got me a folding table, and a milk crate as a seat, and brought everything back out.

It took me a few mins to remember where I left off, but once I got my bearings, I started working on the suspension again. I glued in the front straight axle, and the arms that go on the back... radius arms? Also glued on the ladder bars underneath. Didnt take any pics though, silly me.

glued the wheels together front and rear so no more fooling with that.

I also glued in the red windows that are a gasser MUST. Then mocked it up to amuse myself.

Other than that, it hasnt changed much!!

Unfortunately I had to pack it all away for the week as I'm staying w/ sister who lives down the street from my work, to save a few bucks. But, once I get this one out of the way, I can finally focus on my Cannonball project.... If I ever get the parts from the member who was supposed to send them in April...

thanks guys. I'd like to make a little roll cage for it, but I should have cut the back seat out before I painted it. Oh well. Guess the bars have to go down behind the back seat in the package shelf. I think I have enough spare roll cage/roll bars to make one for this car. Of course, wont be able to get to it til the weekend.

This ERTL '55 Chevy 2 dr post kit created quite a controversy when it came out, maybe 20 years ago. It is based off the AMT '55 Nomad as you can tell by the single exhaust chassis and a few other items.

The rumor was that the '55 Nomad kit had been permanently altered into the 2 dr post. So a frenzy was caused where people were snapping up the Nomads think it was last call on them.

Well, the Nomad came back. It was all a bunch of BS.

No real progress on this one. Just messing with taking pictures of it and tinkering with camera effects. I finally took a picture of the chassis too. Looks how I think a car sitting in a damp barn would look after 30 or 40 years! LOL

I also realized when its upside down you can see some red and black paint from its old life, I'll have to cover that up with some rust haha

added some more rust to my white headers. Cant tell theyre white anymore, but they look cool

Pics turned out a little bit blurrier on a big screen than on my phone, guess thats the price I pay for using cell phone for camera.

Final pics before it goes "under glass"

Yes... I've been here since like last year and FINALLY finished something. lol

Sat the engine down on the frame, I notched the body of the car to fit the headers, and they seem to fit pretty good on the engine in the frame.

Used a blackwash and got the plug wires dirty and aged looking.

Got the front lights in, well, minus one. But I think it adds a touch of forgotten charm to it.

Interior is simple. No roll bar, didnt have the materials to build one... plus, I completely forgot. I *may* do this later.

Added the Bel Air hood ornament, and glued the grille in place.

Just got done reading through this thread, amazing job on it. The weathering is perfect, I'll have to look for that rust kit next time I'm in Michaels or acmoore.

Nice technique Jesse, nicely done!

You might consider adding aome milky areas to the glass noteably the vent windows and the corners of the windshield. A lot of the older glass would show deterioration of the film inside the glass.

Not meant as a criticism, just an observation from visiting a lot of salvage yards over the years. Looks good!.
