I'm waiting for another kit to arrive from ebay, there is more missing from this one than I thought. I was hoping to get further on this by now, but the frame is still in the pond and taking forever to releave itself of the thick layer of black paint.

I did mange to slightly tub the rear wheelwells and start hinging the doors.

This corvette/nomad and the rat-mad are probably my favorites... I love seeing this kind of work.

my update is that I brought all of my model building stuff back home, havent gotten it set up yet, but hoping to soon. I need to get back in this, but life seems to be getting in the way more frequently. I also might be entering more vehicles if time allows.

I bought a 57 Nomad body for another project last week at NNL East. Unfortunately the tailgate and glass weren't for the body in the bag, the body is 1/24 and the glass and gate are 1/25. As I've always liked the original concept for the Nomad using the 1st gen Vette, I thought I'd do a little cutting and fitting. My proportions are far from the real one, the real one has shorter fenders and longer quarter panels which makes it look more like a regular wagon than a sports car. I left the body alone and made my roof really short, I like my version better.

First up after cutting the roof off, narrow it and shorten it. Then I attached it to the Vette's windshield frame.

I love the way you've rusted the seams where the body has been cut & shut - way to avoid filling and sanding!

I've got a build to finish for a show in 10 days time and then i'll be making a start on my Buick. Having seen what i'm up against I think i'll have to step my game up a bit.

The Superbee has bit a wall the tires and rims won't stay together long enough for me to install them and the rear axel is also having a fit issue so I'm pulling the bee out and using it for parts

You have too much work in that up til now to scrap the project. Fix the issues. That's what we do here. If this was easy, everyone would do it.

I agree with Rob. I can't even count all the things that went wrong with the Hot Rod and GTX I built for this last year, it's still fixable and you have plenty of time to do it. Your Super Bee looks too awesome to scrap now.

Are the rims chrome? If so take some sandpaper and gently sand down the glue points to expose the bare plastic. That will give the glue/cement a solid place to stick too.

If the axle isn't lining up with the frame then I what I usually do is cut off the mounting pegs and just eye ball it.

Yup. The Bee looks great and you've made good progress. Jonathan makes some good points. Take a closer look at your obstacle and don't let it defeat you. None of these things are perfect anyway, once you push past it you'll be glad you did. I look forward to seeing the finished Super Bee.

I think I'm gonna pull out the Roadrunner. I got a better idea for it. I would like to enter a Monogram 64 GTO in its place. The only thing done to the GTO so far is I glued the engine halves together. Will post pics of it tonight.
