f1ford48 Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Has anyone built one of these? heres some pics from www.
Harry P. Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Are you sure it's 1/8 scale? I don't think so...
sjordan2 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 If it's a partner to the "cam-a-matic" Duesenberg that I built, it's closer to 1/10.
f1ford48 Posted December 29, 2013 Author Posted December 29, 2013 hey Skip. do you have any photos of the Duesy?? I would like to see it. and yes I think the Mercer is 1/8 to 1/10-it is bigger in scale if parked next to the Duesy.

There is another thread here about it, but not much detail there. Mine was a curbside with no plated parts, and 2-piece tires integrated with the wheel covers. I made tire treads with putty. EXTREMELY simple kit, but it seems accurate enough and can be scratch-detailed to make a very nice display model. Plating and a few aftermarket Pocher parts would finish it off beautifully. Here's the other thread:http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23140 Edited December 30, 2013 by sjordan2
Bugatti Fan Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Didn't know that a Raceabout kit existed in either 1/12th or 1/8th. The most similar car that Pocher did in 1/8th was their Fiat. There was a superb Bandai kit in 1/16th scale produced in the 80's and I think that there was also one by Aurora? in 1/16th scale along with a Stutz Bearcat.
gray07 Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 I have a built one of these on my shelf, if u need to know any info about it

Curt Raitz also did a terrific one a couple of years ago.http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/?showtopic=75837PS: The Aurora Stutz Bearcat is a very simplified curbside with no engine and just a flat belly pan with an oil sump. I think that if it's married with the Lindberg 1914 Stutz racer with a separate chassis and engine that it could be made into a nicely detailed model. Various parts from the Fuman Bandai Mercer, such as the monocle windscreen, could make it very elegant. Edited January 26, 2014 by sjordan2
