I built this from the Johan kit, these are real nice if you can still find them. The Slixx decals go great with them.

Very nice looking Comet! Looks like you did a great job on painting this model. Decals seem to fit perfectly on place, too. This build has the correct look and feel, even if Jo-Hans inner fenders and that empty area in front of the radiator might not be perfectly right if compared to real car. But the work that you did is outstanding. Where are those red things on top of the carburetors from (Don't exactly know what they are called in English....)?

Very nice build! I like the red carb covers! nice touch.

I know that the Comet was last done by Testors, but what happened to the Maverick, which in my book, is way more desirable.

I was gonna say it is a Comet and he ran a Mav with a Cammer not the Boss 429, nice build just the same ....

Those are carb covers, the came in the Comet kit, but not the Maverick .....

When Oakey was trying to revive Jo-han, we discussed the Maverick. Apparently the costs to restore the molds as well as Ford's licensing costs prevented him from doing anything with it. I'd guess it could be backwards engineered like the Rommel's Rod but the original molds aren't useable. Sad the Comet still exists and the Maverick is gone. There were only a couple of Comets in competition that I can think of, Fast Eddie's and Barrie Poole's while there were several Mavericks.
