Hi.

My name is Mark, and I've been away from building model cars for about 35 years.

A few years ago I started building ships when my son joined the Navy. I had intended on honing my skills enough to do a build of his ship. It was a 9 month build that about did me in (mentally that is), so after I finished I was finished with ships. I started looking for something else to build, and found a kid of my Honda Fit. Seriously amazed that they would even make something like that I jumped on it.

I had so much fun building it I wanted more! Now on the workbench is a Revell 65 Nomad and a Fujimi Golf GTI. I'm thinking that the GTI will be white with black interior, and the Nomad will be a custom teal with white. It may turn into a garage car, but I'm not sure yet.

What I'm having most of my trouble with is the Clear-Coating.

I used Future and wasn't that happy with the results.

Welcome back to the fold, Mark! What got me back to modeling was the availability of many of the cars I've owned in kit form ... or close enough that with some modifications I cold do them. :)

Welcome back to the fold. Unlike other forms of scale models your imagination is your best tool on the bench. Looking forward to seeing your work.

Howdy Mark,

I can relate to your change of subject. I used "Future" on aircraft models for a decal base and to make canopys crystal clear.

For my Automotive finishes I really liked the clear coat marketed by "Boyds" paints but it is really hard to find anymore.

Looking forward to seeing your builds.

Welcome Mark, sounds like you got the fever, you should get out and get something for that. A little kit or two will take care of that.
