One of the best commercial kit ever built and this is the second time I am building it. It's a Tamiya kit and parts are cast so well. The first time was a straight build but this time I am adding a lot more details to it to bring out the best in this kit. Weather here is not very good lately so progress is slow, at least now it is getting close.

Sweet. Is the tire lettering dry transfers?

the tire mark is hand painted. But I flipped it to no paint side now. Doesn't really seem to fit with white tire marking on this particular car.

Very, very nice, and the kit wire wheels look unusually good.

I was watching a show on the Velocity Channel last night, where they visited the Morgan factory and showed the incredible hand-crafting that goes into their cars. I was surprised to see that all Morgans, including the Aero coupe, still use ash wood frames.

re: Morgans having wooden frames - the frame rails are actually steel; it's the framework for the underlying structure for the body panels that's always been constructed using wood - mostly 'ash' - a hardwood similar to oak, if I;m not mistaken. The door frames, door jambs, the structure under the rear quarter panels where they attach to the rear deck (around the spare tire opening), the cowl & dashboard area, door sills, etc have non-structural pieces of sheet metal screwed to the wood structure. The floor boards are made of plywood.

(note: I restored a '60 Morgan Plus Four roadster years ago after I all but totaled it when I rear-ended a '62 Ford Galaxie)
