cobraman Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Waiting for the clear to dry on the 57 Fuel Coupe so I can polish it so I thought I would line up my next wip. I will be using the other dragster from the double kit plus using a resin Fiat body. Have most of the cleanup of the body done and will start on the chassis soon.
SwankmoteeD Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Thanks for posting Ray. Looking forward to seeing more.
PappyD340 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 OOOOOOH, I like it Ray, can't wait for more!!
cobraman Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 Moving forward on this build. Chassis close to being done. next then will be doing some measuring to see where and how much to cut the body for fit.
gasser59 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Oh yeah...another Fiat for the strip. Love me some Fiats. This is looking great Ray. Trying to be patient for the next update.
cobraman Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 Thanks. I got the body cut up this morning so it will fit the frame. Just cleaning the resin now and plan to get some primer on it later. Photos to follow hopefully this afternoon.
krazyglu Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I like the look's of this one, curious what kind of engine that is...it is a Ford hehe. You build really fast Ray, where do you display all your finshed kit's.
cobraman Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 Engine is a nailhead and came with the double kit. Never thought I built all that quick but the last 2 were pretty simple except for narrowing the body on the 57 drag fuel coupe. Plus I don't put in very much detail as a rule. As for where do I put them ? I have some display cases and some go back in the box and in a closet.
Ira Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Great Project Ray! Looking forward to seeing more...
BSB Racing Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I built one sort of like your plastic one but out of wood for pinewood derby racing in the rat rod class at APR.
cobraman Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 Bill that looks very cool. I have one Pinewood Derby car kit that is supposed to look like a Cobra. It does not. : )
BSB Racing Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) Bill that looks very cool. I have one Pinewood Derby car kit that is supposed to look like a Cobra. It does not. : ) Thanks...........body is made from balsa............you need the weight low so the lighter you can make the body the better. I bought nothing on this car. Everything is scratch built...........everything. Sorry, the motor was from a kit. Edited January 15, 2014 by BSB Racing
