Ramfins59 Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I got my copy in today's mail and it was received in perfect condition...... although the magazine itself was far from perfect. As usual I sat down to read it from cover to cover as I always do. Things went fine until I reached page 24. Instead of the next page being #25, it went back to page 17 and continued through to page 24 again. The next page was #41 and it continued to page 48. The next page was #41 again and it continued through to the end of the magazine or page #64 being the back cover. It appears that I'm missing pages 25 through and including page 40. I sent an email to Gregg and hopefully he can look into this and hopefully get me a complete and correct issue.
uncle potts Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I pick mine up at the LHS, I'll have to check to make sure all the pages are there.
martinfan5 Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Are the pages actually missing?, or are they really there and its just the page numbering is messed up?
Ramfins59 Posted January 17, 2014 Author Posted January 17, 2014 Jonathan, the pages 25 through 40 are actually missing. Pages 17 to 24 and 41 to 48 are in the magazine twice.
jbwelda Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 sounds like some sigs were messed up when they were collating the magazine. I would expect there would also be some issues with your missing pages repeated twice and the ones you have twice missing. that's how it works in the printing world jb
Jairus Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Keep it Rich, it'll be worth a fortune in 30 years.
Guest Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Other than the usual damage, mine was fine. Good luck getting it replaced.
gbdolfans Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Look at it this way,you now have a valuable collectors item worth a ton of money!!!
LDO Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Is there a way to blame this on the Chinese? I'll work on it.
Ramfins59 Posted January 17, 2014 Author Posted January 17, 2014 I just spoke to a nice lady named Nancy at Golden Bell Press and she is having a new issue sent out to me. She said the problem was in the Binding Dept. and they have had "several" copies go through with this problem.
Danno Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 But they will not replace wrecked copies. Nice. Why don't you give it a rest, Lee? Your posts are a broken record. This is not the MCM Complaints Department or the Golden Bell Press Complaints Department. Email Gregg once and for all and then keep it off the board, please. It's tiresome.
jeffs396 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) no free replacement issues! My copy was fine this time. Over the last four years, I've had two issues replaced promptly with no questions asked. I contacted them by email, received the copies a few days later... Edited January 18, 2014 by jeffs396
Harry P. Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Look on the bright side: Instant collector's item! Do you know how much the old airmail stamp with the inverted Jenny airplane on it goes for? Hold on to this issue and maybe it'll send your kids to college one day!

Sorry Harry, it's too late for that. Both of my daughters graduated from college 8 and 10 years ago.
Craig Irwin Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) I buy mine at the hobby shop to get undamaged copys, but that didn't work this time. It looks fine on the outside but several inside pages were torn, with two tears about a 1/2 inch apart, like they were strapped in a stack too tight. I guess in todays world nobody has any pride in their work so the fact that they got delivered at all is a miracle. Edited January 18, 2014 by Craig Irwin
