Thanks for all the positive comments everybody! They are always appreciated.

Andre, I used the kit decals for the speedometer and the radio.

Mark, photo of backside attached. Hope that is what you were looking for.

Crisp and SHINY :) :) :) . Did you just glue the side glass in and paint? Love the wheels and details.

Hey Jim,

No. I considered it and I know it is common with real-life customs to replace the windows with panels but it would have left recessed panels. I wanted the model to look like it was a real panel truck made by the factory so I used sheet styrene and made panels that fit in the recesses from the outside. A little putty and I was done. It made the polishing process a lot easier too! Ken

Not to detract from your beautiful build, Chevy started doing the panels, inset, in 1955. & continued it until the last deliveries, in 1960. If they had continued into the Chevelle line, they would have most likely used the inset panels & would have used sedan doors, so the b-pillars would be straight up & down.

I started a 66 SD, myself, by grafting a wagon roof onto an El Camino. I'm going to do inset panels but will leave the b-pillar slanted, like Tom Daniel's Street Fighter.

Cartpix, that's good info. I didn't really research this subject, I just started cutting! In fact, I found some pics online describing what you are doing with the El Camino. They must be yours? I started out that way, even bought the El Camino, and then took the easy way out. I used the El Camino body to pattern the door lines. I will admit to being a little bit inspired by T. Daniels Street Fighter too.

Here's a link to my build. It's on the back burner, for now, but I want to start it back up, soon.

Your's is cool to. I just like the way, the back of the b-pillar looks, on the El Camino.
