Belugawrx
I started this about 100 times over the last 6 months...between builds.... watchin paint dry.... waiting on out- gassing.....which I've never had a problem with, ....by the way Never liked the rear end of this But,....... after staring and staring and.....cut glue fill sand fill sand fill sand cut glue it's actually starting to look like something I built the frame / engine stock. I will now research what tailights will go in this boat One right green and one left red?? Edited July 30, 2014 by Belugawrx

DynoMight
You know what would look really cool! Big, long Cadillac taillights! Like these I'm talking about the bottoms, but the tops could be integrated somehow! Just a idea. Great body work so far!

misterNNL
I was thinking the same thing concerning the Cad lights. That is gonna be a killer rear end.The whole thing works togeather to lead your eye forward along the side panels, then you see the forward leaning door pillar and your brain says"This is really working nicely".Then you see the front end and(IMHO)wait.....is that a snow plow(?).There is so much really cool styling work done to this car that(again IMHO)the lower front pan seems too flat by comparison.Possibly adding a thin sideways piece such as a those on early Corvettes would slim that panel somewhat and restore the foward lean look. Again these are only my opinions on the design path based on what I might do in the same situation. This is a great Merc and going to be fun to follow to completition. slusher
You have a cool design going on there Bruce. I am working on one now also. Need something long for your tail lights and you could still shape them if you need to...
Belugawrx
"This is really working nicely".Then you see the front end and(IMHO)wait.....is that a snow plow(?). Hahaha,.. Thanks for commenting, and yes the front end is very bulky looking. I wanted to drop it, without actually "dropping" it. Once I get the rear sorted I am going back to the front. Thanks again guys for your interest All comments and critiques are always welcome! Cheers
misterNNL
Bruce, you might be able to tunnel your tail lights by adding some small dia styrene rod around the lip.New red lenses made from the clear sprue that all kits have attaching the window sections togeather then tinted with candy red paint. I built a chopped and sectioned custom Merc about 40 years ago that used the front facia from the Dodge Deora kit and tail light housings from an Olds Cutlass. It has a lift off body and is powered by an ardun flathead motor with a crank driven blower.Paint is white peral. It's still around too. Ain't this fun?!?!
modelmkr2
how about taking the tail light from the mysterine (sp) Ed Roths car cutting it in half, just a thought
Belugawrx
How about something like this for the front end? I think it takes some snowplow out of the equation! Nothing glued yet dont worry about those headlights the do sit straight!! Comments and criticisms welcome Cheers Edited August 5, 2014 by Belugawrx

Kit-Builder
I know this is kinda late... my apologizes. But how did you make the scoop? I'm building the same car and want to add a scoop... only difference is that I want to run the sides of the scoop further down towards the front of the hood. Almost to the front and then fade. misterNNL
That's a very traditional bumper choice using a ribbed plymouth piece.Looks great(therefore you are forgiven!).Nice work.Look forward to seeing this one completed.
