slusher Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 It did not want to go without a fight. I thought it was going to fall out. Powerful machine to chop up those engine blocks...
1930fordpickup Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 (edited) Not only does this thing have a large amount of torque but the teeth in this machine are very tough. My guess is electric ran by a Diesel generator . I am wrong . The VB 950 has a single Caterpillar C18 diesel engine pushing out 710PS (700hp) and…440,000Nm (324,483 lb-ft) of peak torque, and if that doesn't impress you, how about the VB 1500 that has two C18 diesel mills delivering 1,500PS (1.479hp) and - wait for it- 1 million Nm or 737,463 lb-ft! pharoah Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 The sad part is that car was somebody's baby at one time. Happens to most of them eventually I guess..

DrKerry Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 (edited) These bad boys are loud as all get out too. I dropped off a car at a place in South Beloit Illinois (Behr Metals) when I worked for a salvage yard and they were running their bigger "seperator" and got to see it in action. Same concept as this only five times the size. Kool to watch!!!! This is what I saw running.... http://www.autofocus.ca/news-events/features/when-your-car-dies-going-to-the-crusher Here's a video to watch. The guy running the boom is pretty good.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zadq9usA2SQ Edited February 1, 2014 by DrKerry
Roadkill2525 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Replace the car with pallets of Revell 1990 Mustang LX kits.

Howard Cohen Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 The Police should make the owner of the car and the family watch the process. Let them see the car get destroyed

ChrisBcritter Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 My dad used to work for Pettibone; they made material handling equipment. Sometimes he'd bring home photos of the machines in use:
mnwildpunk Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Last two pics made me cry and scream NOOOOOO!
JM485 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Let this be a lesson to those who don't take care of their stuff.
Skydime Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 This puts me in mind of the episode of Monster Garage when the guys failed to finish the hearse. Jesse put it in the shredder. It was so big that they had to dump engine blocks on it and force it into the machine.
