Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 1956 Chevy Del Ray I love this build. I saw one just like it in Charlotte a few years back. I have to re do the interrior, but for the most part I think it looks great.
Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 Nice. Headlights look kind of cloudy. Yeah, not sure what's up with that, but it happens with my models from time to time.
Dave Ambrose Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Yeah, not sure what's up with that, but it happens with my models from time to time. It can happen if you glue them with cyanoacrylic glues. Use white glue and you won't have that problem.
rocklandrambler Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Very nice build BUT there's no such thing as a '56 Del Ray. The Del Ray didn't come out until '58. Chevy in '56 were the 150, the 210 and the Bel Air
crazyjim Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Ahh - my 1st car - '56 Chevy 2 door post. Nice build.

Thanks for the tip Very nice build BUT there's no such thing as a '56 Del Ray. The Del Ray didn't come out until '58. Chevy in '56 were the 150, the 210 and the Bel Air It was what was on the box. I think you may be thinking of the Impala.
rocklandrambler Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Excuse me, but I was not being smug about it. My info source was the 3rd Edition of the Standard Catalog of American Cars 1946-1975 and 50 years of driving. That being said I will now admit I was WRONG. The Del Ray seems to have been a trim package within the 210 series. It provided carpeting and all vinyl upholstery in place of the rubber floor mats and vinyl/cloth seats.
