empinut Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Added sun visors, inside mirror, iconic side marker lights, front and rear lights. Rear Lights are 4 pieces. tried 3 different sets to get them close. Body mounted to chassis pan. Shot of scratch built type 3 pancake engine I made with front mount fan shroud. Engine lid does not open, but I know its there. Priming bumpers for black for alclad and found a bunch of pinholes to fill that I missed during sanding, shaping prep. Once bumpers are painted and mounted and the mirrors, door handles and photoetch details are attached, I will post in finished section.
MrObsessive Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Who's kit is this? AirTrax Resin makes the Type 3. Tapani Rauramo is the fella you'll need to get in touch with as far as purchasing. He can be contacted here. If you'd like to see what other kits AirTrax offers, just click here and there's a bunch of pics of his items.
empinut Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 Thanks Austin, Kevin, Ray. Thanks for the jump Bill. When are you going to apply your magic to one of these?
Draggon Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Holy cow thats nice. I might have missed it in the original post, but are those Hideo Motohashi's BRM's?
empinut Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 Thanks Glenn. These BRM wheels are not from Hideo. They are a white metal casting from Dennis Chung (Think Small) from Waaay Back. Hideo's are nicer, but also reflect newer technology in their development and execution.
MrObsessive Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 When are you going to apply your magic to one of these? Well, I have their '62-'63 Volvo P1800 that's been calling my name for the longest time. I have plans for it-----might go whole hog on it and open up everything. The suspension will have me a bit stumped as I don't have any kits on hand that would match the P1800's underpinnings. I've got lots of pics though of the underside of the car so if all else fails, I can always scratch something up.
FASTBACK340 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I know those BRM wheels are pricey, but wow are they sweet! Great color choice too! I'll have to get one of those Euro-Ghia's!
Zarana-X Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Great work!Coincidentally, thats the same color as the last two I've seen. Sombody in my town has one, and I saw another on a car transport, presumably on its way to a new home.
