Jordan 191 Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Just what the this forum needs: ANOTHER '32 Ford. Too bad. I'm buidling it mostly from the box, but I'm using the wheels and tires from the Revell '40 Ford. I'm painting the exterior Tamiya Dark Blue and the interior Tamiya LIght Sand. The wheels are sprayed Testors White. Getting stuff organized: Cleaning up and primering the frame: Painted and light wash on the wheels: Some of my exterior pieces (three coats of Tamiya dark blue):
Greg Myers Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 good start, A little more wash in the wheel slots.
Jordan 191 Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 Yes, you are right. Seeing a photo helps to decide that.
bpletcher55 Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 nice start , cant have to many 32,s if you ask me ,
crazyrichard Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 whow never figured white steelies and white walls would look this good !! and a ford rod , you can wake me up for a build like this any day
Jantrix Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 whow never figured white steelies and white walls would look this good !! and a ford rod , you can wake me up for a build like this any day Ditto, the wash makes all the difference. Very nice.
PARTS GUY Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Like the detail on the wheels. I used those for my 1940 pick-up. Great start. Look forward to more pics.
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Nice to see you're filling the notches in the front frame horns. That's almost always overlooked by builders of the Revell '32 fords.
Jordan 191 Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 Thanks guys! Yes, I love the wheels from that '40 kit. I've got my '40 body painted Testors french blue, and I really wish I could have eight of these wheels and use them for both builds. I started building a flathead for this, but I've changed my mind and I'm gonna use the Hemi from the 5-window kit. I have wires for it. I know a flathead would be cooler, but I really like the looks of the Hemi valve covers, I'm sorry. They are chromed so nicely, and I think they will be great with some paint in the ridges and wires.
Jordan 191 Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 I'm moving slowly on this build, but I liked this photo of my shiny trunk lid:
rustybill1960 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Who "doesn't" like Coupes?!?!?!? Your right that is "VERY" shiney indeed! I look forward to your ford in fact i welcome it! Thank You for sharing Later Russ
Baugher Garage Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 If the wheels are any indication, this is going to be a stunner!
bobthehobbyguy Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Nice start. The whitewalls and the blue go together well.
Jordan 191 Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 Thanks guys! I can't decide if the interior should be white or tan. I'm still thinking tan, but we'll see.
dino246gt Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Tan interior looks more modern to me, white, more vintage. Judging by your cool wheel/tire combo, I think white interior will look great, just my opinion!.
PARTSMARTY Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 GREAT PROJECT-LOVE THE COLOR-IS THAT TAMIYA DARK BLUE METALLIC? LOOKS LIKE THE SAME COLOR I JUST PAINTED MMY 66 BISCAYNE SLLEEPER.NICE PROJECT !!!
Jordan 191 Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 Thank you! No, it is standard dark blue, not metallic. I believe It's TS-55.
mrknowetall Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Thank you! No, it is standard dark blue, not metallic. I believe It's TS-55. It is TS-55. Almost a Ford dark blue.
Jordan 191 Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 Tan interior looks more modern to me, white, more vintage. Judging by your cool wheel/tire combo, I think white interior will look great, just my opinion!. You are right. Tan would aesthetically work well with the dark blue, but white would better match the time period of the wheels.
om617 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Just what the this forum needs: ANOTHER '32 Ford. Too bad. In my opinion you can never have enough of them. It is really interesting to see how people build, taste and results. This one looks sweet
Jordan 191 Posted March 14, 2014 Author Posted March 14, 2014 The day I started this thread there must have been 4 or 5 new '32 Ford threads on the forum, so I was making a joke about that! But yes I love seeing what people do with them.
