microboyca Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) Hello All, I am really hooked on building these drag car models.Started work on the Fiat Topolino from the double dragster kit.I'm modifying the body into one piece with the large fender cutouts on the nose piece.Replaced the radius rods on the front end by grafting the front of the hairpins from the kit to the hairpins from the Tony Nancy dragster set and also used the front and rear wheels from the same kit.Hope you like it and thanks for looking. Cheers, Ron. Edited February 25, 2014 by microboyca

ratdoggy Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Gold leaf with old timey kind of lettering
microboyca Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 Gold leaf with old timey kind of lettering Thanks for the kind remarks everyone and Mike I would like to try that style of lettering, where would I find info on that, any suggestions?I was trying to decide on what kind of pipes to put on this thing, none of my kit ones where quite right,so I made a set of funny car style zoomies from .080" styrene rod.I still have some corrections to make on them. They give this car a mean looking appearance Thanks for looking. Cheers, Ron.
BSB Racing Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 You should name that car "Sour Grapes" Love those old gassers.

ratdoggy Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Since I'm kinda new to this here's my take FWIW I'm no expert but couldn't you use a font on decal paper hit it with some gold leaf, seal it and use it that way? I imagine someone makes those kind of decals too although I haven't looked myself.
cdan delivery Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 nice take on a special model. love this

Cheers, Ron.
