cobraman Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) Since I just finished my Cobra diorama I needed another project to keep me out of trouble. This is what I came up with. Going to build the Tweedy Pie pretty much stock but want to try and modify the Bantam body from the Slingster to fit. I will have to do some body work to the body but I think I can make it work. Need to fill in the wheel wells with plastic and then maybe open up new ones further back. Edited February 23, 2014 by cobraman
Matt T. Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I eyeballed this same deal and think it will work like you say. Should look cool! Post some pics.
bobthehobbyguy Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 How does the bantem body compare to the t body? Sounds like a grat idea. Bobthehobbyguy

cobraman Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 Started the body work today. Not sure I am going about it the right way but we shall see. This kit has a lot of flash on it.
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Definitely a cool idea!! That should make a wicked little rod. Very different. Different is good.
cobraman Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 Thanks guys. I hope it will turn out like I see it in my head but they seldom do. : )
cobraman Posted February 22, 2014 Author Posted February 22, 2014 Made a bit more progress on this. Body just about ready to paint. It will be a dark blue. Seems I paint a lot of stuff blue lately. Anyway, I should be able to get the t-bucket interior inside. I am making a firewall from sheet plastic. I think the rear track is too wide but won't try and change it at this point.
cobraman Posted February 22, 2014 Author Posted February 22, 2014 Thanks Carl. BTW I have a PM coming your way.
cobraman Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 Finished the body work and squirted some paint on the body. Still needs to be cleared and polished. The chassis is just about complete. The second photo is a mock up but the body will not sit so low in front due to the installation of the firewall.
1 bad55 stan Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Thats different Ray,looks pretty cool..
bobthehobbyguy Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Nice. Looks a lot like a hot rod nicknamed Purple people eater from a while back. bobthehobbyguy
jbwelda Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 looks kool and I really think the tweedy pie chassis is great; ive used it in a number of projects myself if I may, could I suggest you slot the body so it sits down over the rear axle more and then if you raise the front of the body, do it only slightly to make it sit level to the ground more or less. I think low and level is going to look really menacing. jb
cobraman Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 Thanks guys. William, I have thought about what you suggested however I think the interior will limit how much or even if I can do that.

Kennyboy Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 MAN Ray!! I REALLY like this!!! I think it has sort of an Uncertain "T" kind of flavor to it!!
cobraman Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 Thanks Ken. Now that you mention it I think it does too. I think once the body is in it's final position it won't so much. I think the forward rake of the body as it sits on the chassis makes it resemble the Uncertain T.
