Dodge L700 Car Transporter

Ever since the early 70's I've been infatuated with the IMC Dodges & saw a thread on Moparts about "Vintage Car Haulers" in the race section

Then I knew I needed to buy more of these

To build these

Should be a cool conversion.....I've never really liked that old Dodge, but a few guys have made this thing look pretty good.....This project has a lot of potential....Great idea....

Thanks guys! I started building one before the other but when another L700 came in the mail I started the second one

Here's the first mockup pic with the chassis original wheelbase It has at least a 3/4" gap with this cab/sleeper combo

Now here's chassis #2 with a relocated axle

This one will be the Drag Car one & #1 being configured more for roundy round

But here are some of the pics from the construction & will show what the only flaw & the fix in the donor Ford kit

The dark spot on the frame is where I had to heat it to correct it

Of the three I have opened, two have had this problem

Thanks Tom I need to build them identical now so the sleeper cab will go back to it's original project & the two cabs that I'm trading for will be used on them with a revised sleeper plan that is more era fitting

Lookin good..i watched the snake and mongoose movie last night..great movie...it was the worst thing i could've done for my wallet anyway Now i really want to build the haulers and cars...their dragsters would be pretty cool to build too

The Cab kit to build their trucks is $110 each or I would have already planned for them as you can buy the cars to put on them

220 for just both cabs is alot revell or amt should get the licensing so they can be built ffor a whole lot cheaper
