bigbluesd Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Just won this bad boy on the 'Bay, curious if anybody was familiar with this kit and had any thoughts on it? Can it be built into a decent model? Googling didn't pull up much on it.

MsDano85gt Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 not too bad of a kit can be kitbashed into a very decent mustang with the revell monogram mustang kits, chassis pan fits well and it far more detailed, its basically a snap kit its very dissapointing too with decals as i got hold of 3 variations of the kit i wanted the black cobra to have the green cobra decals used on the car, but they are dry dransfer decals and i had no luck they crumbled...... but i am working away on 2 of my 3 as backburner projects, i have a bunch of junk lot monogram chassis convertable parts so hopefully i can make something cool of my kits! i do feel they did pretty well on the body, this particilar model and the way its made make for a very easy version to open up the rear hatch liftgate!! good luck pm me if you have any questions or need parts.....
Rob Hall Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 IIRC this was the same tooling that was released at some point as a Lindberg which was molded in green. I built the Lindberg long ago, was very simplified inside and out, had a warped hood w/ molded-in engine. Some parts were molded in green, some in black. The MPC and Monogram Mustangs of that era are much better kits.

bigbluesd Posted April 10, 2014 Author Posted April 10, 2014 (edited) I received it a week or so ago and you were all right, this thing is a real turd. I decided though that I will use it as practice for body work, etc. I'm not even going to bother with anything under the hood, just gluing that shut and calling it a curbside model. Enough to worry about on the rest of the car! This is the car I'm more or less shooting for... Need to find a set of Cobra wheels but in the event I don't I've got some nice customs from a 3 in 1 kit that won't look half bad. Casey, even the box art builds are bad on these! MsDano85gt Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 couldn't build my "cobra " version as box art box stock because the decals are those darnded dry transfer and they were toasted which made me so mad i was looking forward to the green "cobra snake" graphics
