MsDano85gt Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 I see this plently on posts here, call me dumb, or maybe i've been living in mississippi way too long, but what the heck does "Bump" mean? i'm litereally "Dumb"founded by the term bump and its meaning here on the forums
Rob Hall Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 It's a post to reactivate a stale thread...'bump' it back to the top of the list of recent posts..
Quick GMC Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 People do that to bump the thread to the top of the page for more visibility
Harry P. Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 To "bump" a thread means that you add a reply simply to bring that particular thread back to the top of the page.
niteowl7710 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 (edited) Ahh yes the "hip" name for the Triple T (Tap to Top) procedure. I can see the point of it on occasion to show your thread (particularly a want or trade thread) to a "fresh" set of eyes. This forum is so large it's impossible to really pay attention to EVERY new post, EVERY day, even when you just use the "View New Content" button. It gets annoying when the person does it several times over the course of a week, or as I've seem some extreme cases (not here) several times a day. Edited April 13, 2014 by niteowl7710
Belugawrx Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 I like looking back thru. what 8 yrs , of models in this forum?, and if something is built differently, beautifully, or has a great tip involved,... I`ll bump it. Alot of the members ,I don`t think, look back on previous builds Cheers
mustang1989 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 (edited) I've done it especially when , only by coincidence another few members have posted the same time as I have and suddenly right after I post, my post slips down the ladder several posts. niteowl nailed it pretty good with his point. Greg Myers Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Interesting for a model CAR board how many don't get things and wont read or look at a post to learn. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=88233 case in point.
