JPolli Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 With the reissue of the MPC Ohio George Malco Gasser Mustang kit, was wondering if there might be a1969 Ohio George Mr. Gasket Red Mustang resin body somewhere out there to combine with the current Malco Gasser reissue? I know MPC made a clear bodied 1969 Mr. Gasket kit awhile back that has never been reissued. Might anyone know? Jim Polli
Daddyfink Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I have a resin copy of that body, but, I have no idea who made it. It is very well done and looks just like a kit body, but in white and not clear
JPolli Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 Jesse Hoping the one you have was not a one and done. Hoping there is a resin caster out there who has these for sale. Jim
Force Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) I also have a resin copy of the Mr Gasket Gasser 69 Mustang body and it's very nicely done, it's a one-piece as the one in the old MPC kit but casted in white resin, I bought it on ebay a while ago but have seen more of them there from time to time and one quite recently. But hopefully Round 2 also will do the Mr Gasket kit, I don't care if it's a clear body or a solid white one, as long as we get it I'm satisfied. Ohio George had 2 versions or you might say evolutions of the Mr Gasket 69-70 Mustang, one with the same SOHC engine as the 67 pictured in the first post above, and one with a twin turbo injected 429, I have also seen this car with 2 different front clips, one 69 and one 70, and 3 sets of rear wheels, 5-hole slot mags, 8-hole ET wheels and American Racing Bear Paw wheels, the fronts has always been spindle mount "kidney beans". JPolli Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 Thank you for your reply. Yes, I did hear rumor of Round 2 doing a Mr. Gasket Mustang reissue. Hopefully, someone from there is reading this. Jim
John Pol Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 The only one I know that cast the malco Gasser Mustang body was Wendell Sowers of AFX resin.
JPolli Posted April 28, 2014 Author Posted April 28, 2014 John. Thanks for your reply. You may be correct. Jim

The only one I know that cast the malco Gasser Mustang body was Wendell Sowers of AFX resin. Yes the resin body I have looks to be a Wendell Sowers casting but I don't remember who the seller was as it was quite sometime ago. Edited April 28, 2014 by Force
Greg Wann Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I have this clear body and some other body parts that go with it. I don't have the whole kit though. I have thought about casting it but don't know when I would get to it. There are not enough hours in the day with a real job to go to for doing casting work. If only I could retire and do this.
rssschris Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I hope someone can cast it. I know I want one. chris
iBorg Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Honestly, I'd think about adapting the Revell or MPC regular body to the OGM. I think it would be more accurate. The MPC OGM always struck me as having weak details.
iBorg Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Looking at this clear body and it is much better than I remember. It could be a good one to cast but Paul's point is well taken. Maybe converting to the '69 body would be cheaper. It all depends on the price and availability of the 69 body. Another thought would be to adapt the PL Mustang funny car. I'm not sure how close it is to stock but I do know it has a shorter wheelbase than the PL Chargers.
JPolli Posted May 2, 2014 Author Posted May 2, 2014 The conversion idea sounds like a good one. However, how would one go about doing it? i.e. …………..The front clip, hood and front spoiler. Jim
iBorg Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 I'd use the 69 as the main donor for the front clip. The hood scoop would be added to the '69. Maybe the spoiler would work or it might need scratch building.

magicmustang Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Great article on the '69 Mr. Gasket Gasser. http://performance.ford.com/enthusiasts/newsroom/2016/11/_ohio-george_-montgomerys-1969-boss-429-aa-gs-mr--gasket-gasser.html
