Ira Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 (edited) Nailed It! Found these Roofing Nails in the garage. They are about an inch long with a 1/2 inch head. I glued the Nails to 3 of the Speeders Feel. Then I pressed the Feet down into the Base. It stays in place without glue and it still can be removed. More Coming... Edited July 13, 2014 by Ira
Ira Posted July 14, 2014 Author Posted July 14, 2014 UFO on a Stick! I used a Chop Stick with 2-Sided Tape to hold the UFO while painting. Here it is after a couple coats of Testors Glosscote. I found some Bumper Guards in the parts box. Looks like a good fit for the UFO! Front View. Here is the rear view with the X-Wing Engine in place. More Coming...

Ira Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 Dash Pod! I decided to add a Dashboard to the UFO. I found this one in the AMT Star Wars Pod Racer Kit. I used the Bubble Top for a guide to cut out the Dashboard. I positioned the Bubble Top in place and traced it. Here is the Cut Dashboard. I also cut the Square Rings off the Instrument Pod. Here it is Painted and glued in place. I also added Photo details to the Side Panels. Almost finished with the Interior. More Coming...

Ira Posted July 18, 2014 Author Posted July 18, 2014 Hyper-Drive! I cut the end off of a B Wing Fighter part. This will fit behind the Bubble top and contain the Hyper-Drive Crystal. I painted it with Black Primer and glued a plastic Rhinestone in the end. After the glue dried I ground the bottom of the Rhinestone so that it was flush with the bottom of the B wing Part. Here it is glued in place with Silver Bands made from stripping tape. More Coming...

Ira Posted July 20, 2014 Author Posted July 20, 2014 Rocks and Sand! I got the UFO Finished and mounted it in the Base. I didn't glue it in place, it's a tight fit without glue. Then I added loose rocks around the UFO so it looks like it's really in there. I can still remove it if I want to. Here is the other side. I also glued the AT Speeder in place. I decided to turn it around so the rear of the AT Speeder faces the UFO. I pushed the Feet into the Styrofoam base so that they appear to have weight and they are imbedded in the Sand a bit. I spread a little Sand around the Feet when I glued them in. The Sand covered all of the glue. More Coming...
Ira Posted July 20, 2014 Author Posted July 20, 2014 Robot Arms! I glued the Robot Drone Arms in place. Here is the Side View. After this photo I weathered the Arms and replaced the Snow Speeder Harpoon Gun with a Camera. More Coming...

Ira Posted July 20, 2014 Author Posted July 20, 2014 Look Who's Here! After searching the Parts Box, Don seems like the perfect Driver for the UFO. The Don Garlits Figure came in one of his Dragster Kits. Here he is with a coat of Primer. I glued two small nails to Dons feet. This will make it easy to mount him on the Base. I found some great photos of Don on Google. I painted his Suit and Hair Black, Vallejo Flesh for the skin. I applied a Tan Colored Wash over the Flesh. Then I sprayed him with Glosscote and applied Decals. A coat of Dullcote was then applied. I met Don Garlitts when I was about 10 or 12 years old. He was always one of my favorites. More Coming...
