340-6 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Just a rather quick build of a new airfix kit. I've wanted to build one of these late-model seafires for quite some time now. This thing with its contra-rotating props and 20mm Hispano -cannons is ,in my opinion, what a real fighter should look like. The underside is still missing couple of lenses and a piece of flap which I managed to misplace. Afterall, the kit wasn't quite as good as I had expected. It hat a lot of well detailed parts, but the fuselage halves were badly warped and were a huge hassle to glue together properly, and the landing gear were a bit fiddly as well.
Jim B Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Nice job on the Seafire. I'll be the U-boats hated to see that appear overhead! With the 20mm cannon & rockets, it looks like it's definitely optimized for ground attack of anti-shipping.
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Oh man! i think the Seafires and the Mk XVI and later bubble-canopy Spitfires are the most beautiful prop fighters ever...and wildly menacing with the counter-rotating props and a full load of ordnance. Great model, sir.

The 1/24 Airfix Typhoon looks like it will be awesome in the detail dept. when it comes out.
