Saw this on the Revell page on FB.Pretty cool!

The Revell 2015 Ford Mustang Snaptite® Build & Play model kit is launched into outer space! YES, for real! See the video on YouTube:
Ford zone manager Michael Sego and a team from Big Valley Ford in Stockton, California sent the model into space on a weather balloon in honor of Ford Mustang's 50th Birthday.

Funny..... I wonder what an extraterrestrial would say if the Snaptite model really makes it past earth orbit? "Geeze, these guys are really primitive; they haven't discovered liquid cement!"

And "holy flying car, spaceman!!! Apparently these primitives are STILL burning fossil fuels. I guess they haven't yet realized that that big glowing yellow ball in the sky is a source of free, unlimited energy, forever. Primitive indeed!!!"

Faked. Weather balloons do,not go into space, and even if they did, the heat of reentry would vaporize the plastic.

Hall: well forgive me for being so inquisitive; but during the past few weeks, I've wondered whether you might be having some second thoughts about the mission

Dave: no not at all

It defintely wasn't in space, the earth's "curve" was the edge of the camera lens. But it was definitely a high altitude camera shoot and we got to look at a model car while we watched it. I'd call that pretty neat.
