Picked up this old dust/gluebomb rally version of the 911 Carrera RS. I have taken it apart as gently

as i could, and did not brake anything besides a rear spindle and some lug-nuts. Wanted to go for

something ala Singer,or some modern style on this, keep original bodywork and such, but give it a

nice ride height, some fat wheels, and maby some little tweeks on the engine. Not turbo because

turbo Porsches sound like hairdryers,it will be N/A.

Here is what i have to work with so far.

The wheels and tires are brand new from the Fujimi flatnose turbo.

My inspiration. But i do want the RS spoiler from the kit.

Very nice. I agree about the turbo-911 sound, but it's sure hard to beat the N-A exhaust note. Thanks too for the heads-up on the Fujimi flatnose rolling stock. Exactly what I've been needing for a stalled project.

Singer, yes. If I had the bucks for one, I'd happily live in a tent next to it. Good looking work you have going on here.

Thanks Bill. The wheels are from the non-enthusiast version, the kit goes cheap on Ebay now days. Yes me too,

they are the perfect mix of modern and classic, also said to be beautiful made. Some assume it`s just bolt on parts.

Thanks Fabrizio.

Enjoy that kit. I recently built one of these as a Magnus Walker-esque canyon carver (it's my avatar pic, BTW) and it took a fair amount of surgery to get it to sit low enough for my taste. I really like those wide Fuchs wheels you're planning to use!

Jason: I just read thru you`re wip threat and there was some great tip there. I ordered the decals as well. The seat buckles you

have looks really great, may i ask where you got them?

The seat belt hardware is from a Detail Master set. Pretty basic compared to some of the PE stuff from the Japanese manufacturers, but it does look good when completed. The Hobby Design decals are fantastic too.

This is my kind of builds. how are you going to mount the slantnose wheels to this kit? did you cut of the lugs from the hub?

It looks like i have to remove some of the hubs from the new wheels, and take the hubs off completely from the orginal kit.

This and keep the spindels and brakes from the original. Working now to try repair the sloppy cut job the builder did when

cutting out the hood.

Thanks Jason on info about the seat belt hardware.

Some progress are better then no progress,so i have heard lol. I`m unsure if i should clear

before or after decals are on,or if i should clear it at all.

Got some clear on it. Did order some styrene rods to attempt making headers for it. Thanks to AFX for tip and suggestions.

Thanks.

I was unsure about paint the whole senter black, but went with this,i think it looks better.

Not an easy car to lower, but this will be the final stance, then there will be a little to go on

before it touch at front. I`m trying my best to fix the lighs on this car,the headlight lenses

where full of glue as with most other parts. I`m thinking about paint the headlight buckets

black and foil them on the inside. The interior will get some flat clear treatment before i

mount it,now its to shiny. Here is how it sits, the front suspension is fitted, the rest is just

mock-up.

That's...beautiful. Really classic color combo. I too really like the big Fuchs on the narrower body.
