Dragfreak Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 (edited) The interior is completely finished and as of now, is glued in place in the body. Yes I know there is injector pin marks on the bottom of the seats, I tried to get rid of them but I was just sanding the detail off the seats. With the body on you cant see them anyways. I also know the belts aren't correct, they're a mixture of the lever and cam lock type, I made them from left over bits and pieces from a detail master kit. Let me know what you think, what I can try to add, fix, or do in the future. All criticism and comments are welcome Edited July 27, 2014 by Dragfreak
1 bad55 stan Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Looks better every update Jason, your skill level is great...
Dragfreak Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 Thanks Stan, right now all I have to do is get the engine and fuel plumbing finished, I'm also working on an alternator and power steering pump bracket so they aren't "floating". I took some good mockup photos so I'll have to get them up
Dragfreak Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 One more thing before bed, I finished the magnafuel fuel pump, it's not 100% accurate but it does the job
Dragfreak Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 Looks good... keep up the good work Jason.... Thank you Tyrone, I've got some mockup shots I'll post here in a few minutes, it's almost done, just a few days
Dragfreak Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) Here's some mockup I took the other day, Here you can see the sump I scratch built, I'll be running fuel line from here, to the pump, to the regulator and then to the carb. Edited July 28, 2014 by Dragfreak

pharr7226 Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Great build and great photography. It looks real.
futurattraction Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 That's looking great, Jason. And the quality of your photos is very solid, too...
Mister Twister Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Yep...That looks great...And as mentioned by the others...Great pics as well!
Petetrucker07 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 This turned out really good. I hope the drag car builds i have comin up will even close.
MsDano85gt Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 great work i have yet to get one of these newer notches..... need to BAD!! working or trying to finish up my mad resins 79' notch..... cobra front end conversion
Dragfreak Posted July 29, 2014 Author Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) Thank you everybody for the feedback, I love hearing what you have to say, right now I have to finish painting the chassis, and finish all of the plumbing. After that I'll glue the chassis to the finished body and interior. Here's some teaser pictures of what's been occupying me tonight Drilling out the ends of plastistruct rods to make fittings, fun! And a teaser of the sump and pump. I honestly can say I more than exceeded my expectations for how this would turn out, this is my first time trying this. Nothing is glued in yet as I still have to finish painting the chassis, it's just mocked up. Everything but the braided line is scratch built, my 15 year old income doesnt quite support pro tech or rb motion fittings Edited July 29, 2014 by Dragfreak
am73grand Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Man this thing looks awesome! Nice work on the fuel system plumbing
MikeBoyle Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 The scratch built fittings look great. I may be over twice your age, but I still prefer to scratch build anything I can over buying it.
Dragfreak Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 Ron, thank you, I've been making fittings for quite a while now but I've never ran fuel lines to a pump/sump. I'm very happy with the outcome. Glenn, thank you! I try my best, I also enjoy seeing what I can make with different materials. Clayton, I appreciate it, thanks man! Mike, life comes before my modeling so I don't have a whole lot to put towards models, that's why I scratch build anything that doesn't really need to be bought, besides the fact I enjoy turning nothing into something. Stan, thank you for following along, I'm heading off to bed but my goal after work tomorrow is to finish it up and shoot some photos of it!
Robberbaron Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 REALLY impressed with level of detail your putting into this build. All the little details truly add to the realism. Everything is very convincing.
Dragfreak Posted August 2, 2014 Author Posted August 2, 2014 (edited) It's all finished up, here's a few pictures of it finished, here's a link to the post in under glass http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=92204&st=0&p=1234302 Edited August 2, 2014 by Dragfreak
