Charlie - I'm trying to replicate USAF "Strato Blue" on a Mustang. I thought this would be ok from the can. It wasn't, but when I saw it on another car I painted, I thought it would be perfect for this one. Apparently I was right! Long week ahead so stay tuned. Agent G Posted June 10, 2014 Author Share Posted June 10, 2014 Between all the things happening here in Vegas and my nephew visiting, not a lot has been accomplished. Last night and this morning I completed the Ardun flattie. This is where I left it last night. I used Tamiya "Smoke", highly thinned with their acrylic thinner as a wash on the manifold. Using an acrylic ensured I wouldn't fudge up the enamel base paint. As of right now I'm calling the engine complete. I built the distributor from styrene tube and sheet. Agent G Posted June 10, 2014 Author Share Posted June 10, 2014 Thank you gentlemen. When it comes to hot rods I like my motors out there in the breeze so to speak. That's why I put a lot of time into them. I will detail an interior as well even in a coupe. Here's where it's at today. I used the kit pedals and made an accelerator from wire and a scrap of plastic. I took sprue and rod and constructed a "piston" topped shift lever. Thank You Your detailing of the flathead carburation is top notch too! I had that Ford pick up in my hands the other day, but, opted for another kit I think I will have to get that kit and make a resin casting of the engine now. As I have several kits that would look very nice with that engine in it. Thank You again I am wondering as to Your choice of rims and rubber?
