Mpc kit re issued goes together a little differently than the Revell or Johan kits but still yields a great looking build imo. Decals were a bear to do, the whole side of the car in one piece and I ended up ripping one side as they are quite brittle. brought a replacement and even they (which I cut to ease installation as such) still didnt want to go on very well. Parachutes are quite cool but headache inducing hence I only have one done so far :) . Built box stock. If the engines getting covered I dont bother with too much detailing anymore.

Very nice! I have the same kit on-deck,but am having some difficulty finding out what the specific color white was on the 1:1 car, IE: pearl white,gloss,etc..........................................Mark

Ditto Brett, nice build. I got the MPC "HOT ROD" version of this and detailed it up quite a bit. Then I had to file down the tinwork around the rear of the engine for the fuel distribution, not to mention the roll bar padding. This caused the tinwork to fit imprecisely and the tabs in the rear which fit into the chassis were positioned to far rearward. I had to cut them off and do some styrene magic to realign everthing to open and close correctly.

Mine is painted Mystic Black and I had custom gold "Nitro Mare" decals made for it. I may have to scrounge around for other decals to use as sponsors because of the dark body. It's late and I'll post a pic tomorrow. I have a couple of different kit WIP threads I need to update as well.

Your builds always look like the real thing, like you could slap a starter on 'em and hear the nitro cackle!

Really nice job Brett, love the deployed parachute!! Is that a resin chute and where did you get it?

thanks guys, appreciate it :) Jim, no the kit comes with two deployed chutes though be warned the chute took almost as long to thread as the car did to build
