webestang Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 (edited) So, I am taking the dio from the Autoscape kit and building my first "weathered" kit......37 Ford PU.......should be fun. Edited September 1, 2014 by webestang
webestang Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 First weathered build......I've been studying weathered tutorials so this will be a learning curve...... I drew first blood by cutting out the "wood" so the rear shows. This will have no engine/trans but a tree growing through the engine bay......!
Jantrix Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 (edited) This will have no engine/trans but a tree growing through the engine bay...... I've been thinking about this too. What are you planning for the tree? Something from a model rail road? Edited May 23, 2014 by Jantrix
webestang Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 I've been thinking about this too. What are you planning for the tree? Something from a model rail road? I was thinking about looking around in the woods behind my house for a small twig or branch and have a bare tree with no leaves.....?

webestang Posted June 21, 2014 Author Posted June 21, 2014 Thanks! I'm wondering if I should try and paint the tree through the hood to match the one's in the photo? Or use Photoshop and do a late fall scene....?
webestang Posted June 21, 2014 Author Posted June 21, 2014 I just realized there is a Diorama section.......if a Mod would like to move me, that would be cool.....
charliechaindrive Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 That looks great, we've got an actual '37 ford pickup sitting out back in similar shape: your model even shares the cab roof corner dent on the drivers side, with ours. My dad and I are building a ratrod out of it, hot 302 under the hood. I'd like to get this same kit someday, any comments on how it went together?
