Shelby 427 1965 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 A project I'm about 99% certain I'll complete... ...Because it's about 90% done already It's Tamiya's '66 kit. (Is this kit meant to have a decal sheet? I can't find one. Had to try and paint a Speedo on. Think I did okay.) It's in primer right now: I'm going for this kinda look: I've ordered some styrene tubing, to make a custom roof rack. I've never done this before or worked with styrene tubing. Any advice or hints or anything guys? Cheers
hgbben Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Looks awesome the way it is in primer, but that color scheme will make it really pop.
Shelby 427 1965 Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 Cheers guys! Painted today. Didn't do the white as I thought it'd be too much, and I'm only just getting back into building.. I'll worry about fancy paints later on For now, I'm just happy I got a good spray job down.
Shelby 427 1965 Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 Thanks Robin! It's not, I'm not sure what it is, I used it on a Chevelle I built two years ago, in fact it's the very same Can! Gave it a (very) rough mockup, I can never resist...
Chillyb1 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I love this kit and this car. Can't wait to see yours completed. I've got one in the nearly finished stage, too.
1 bad55 stan Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 This looks great, the paint is very nice,The more i see these kits being built makes me want 1.yours is very cool..
Shelby 427 1965 Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 Thanks everyone! Means a lot. I'll hopefully have more progress tomorrow.
Zarana-X Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Looking great so far. The kit didn't have a decal sheet, but it did come with photo-etched emblems for the hood and decklid.
misterNNL Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Nice glossy paint.Lack of that kills a lot of well intentioned builds.
