cobraman Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 This will be the next kit on the bench. This is like building an old friend. i don't know how many times I have built this car in the past. What to do, what to do ? I have narrowed it down to 2 ideas. I think I will either do a gasser style car or perhaps a salt flat type of car.
slusher Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 What ever you decide Ray I know it will be a fine build. You have built some great cars lately....
BSB Racing Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Flat black, set of Moon's.....yup, that's what I'd do!
Speedfreak Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Ray, Carl and BSB both make good points. I don't see too many Salt Flats cars on here, that would be cool with a '36 Ford.
cobraman Posted July 3, 2014 Author Posted July 3, 2014 Flat black, set of Moon's.....yup, that's what I'd do! I will have to give that some thought. I don't really build primered or flat color cars or rat rods if you will. Not really against them I just prefer shiny. As one guy here put it once......... If it ain't shiny, it's just dull. : )
10ovr Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 (edited) How about a period correct color for the time,,, Salt Flat,, Edited July 3, 2014 by 10ovr
1 bad55 stan Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 I sure it will look great what ever you decide.a gasser would get my vote though, but then again.....
Pim Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Seeing as you are a cobra guy put a Shelby engine in and put cobra style stripes now that would look cool!
10thumbs Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Hi Ray, I've been wanting that model for a while now, and can't find one. Have you considered making a real cool hot rod with it? Look at the pic above this, what a neat car! Michael
cobraman Posted July 6, 2014 Author Posted July 6, 2014 I have some plans you guys may like.......except for Harry ! : )
MikeBoyle Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 I have one of these sitting in limbo. I'll be watching this for inspiration.
cobraman Posted July 8, 2014 Author Posted July 8, 2014 Just another quick mock up. Should be able to shoot some clear tomorrow.
slusher Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Nice progress Ray, I always said your a fast builder...
cobraman Posted July 8, 2014 Author Posted July 8, 2014 Simple kit + not much extra detail + wife out of town + retired = Quick build ! : )
1930fordpickup Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Simple kit + not much extra detail + wife out of town + retired = Quick build ! : ) And I thought this was when you bought the real Cobra kit car from Factory Five .
cobraman Posted July 8, 2014 Author Posted July 8, 2014 My daughters law school bill put the hold on any drivable Cobra anytime soon. But money well spent.
cobraman Posted July 10, 2014 Author Posted July 10, 2014 Car is finished and will be posted in the "Under Glass" section soon.
