The AMT 49 Ford dog dish caps might not be too bad. You'd have to sand off the "Ford" script and paint them with Alclad II if you were particular.

Looks to me the closest thing will be from a old 1968 Plymouth Fury 4door police car by Johan...might not be too fun to find.

ah when you said that kit i took a look, as i have a few here, its too small, its not as large as it needs to be

I am not sure if these are the right year , but they are close .

These are resin and a very good product. They have different years for these caps that are listed.

i took a look, i can only see cars upto 90 and nothing close, there are no images so i wouldnt know what the items would look like.

The Modelhaus wheel and tire set would be the closest thing out there- those are what I used on my Michigan State Police '97 Ford. For some reason Don lists each year separately (1992,1993,1994,1995,1996, 1997 instead of as just '92-97) but they're all the same set. Those wheels and tires were actually carryover from the previous generation LTD Crown Vic.

Julian Don at Modelhaus makes a fantastic product.

ta, yeah heard that. he has a couple of things i want, need to save up for. like the Chevy Caprice wagon.

trouble is his website is great if you know your stuff, for me nope. Im sure there are lots of useful things for me, but without even a pic i cant compare to real images, which is what i have to do for most things

I just received two sets of the Modelhaus CV dog dish covers and a set of Caprice 94-96 steel wheels. I can tell you that they are beyond accurate. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks. i have a couple of those SS Impalas left, although the last one i did i filled the boot lid spoiler as well as the other changes. Def want to get some of those hub caps. Hopefully by the end of the year i can get some and a few other things he has

Are there any other useful cop car related items on his website, there is no real search option, plus as you can imagine i have not got a clue what most of what is listed, or even if it would be useful for cop car builds etc. What would be useful for the AMT 70s Ford. Dodges and Plymouths etc that you think i could use, either with kits i have here, or kits i could get in the future. Looking at cars past mid 60's. I have some money sat in paypal and i might as well use it.

Just spent ages going through things but im pretty lost. All i could do was find 68 Fury for my Johan kits. I can see the cop dog dish hub caps but the other items, what are worth improving over the kit items? I cant really afford to just get one of each for the sake of it. http://www.modelhaus.com/index.php?y=60&c=4197&pt=&part=1&Submit=Search

I have a couple of van kits, 77 Ford van AMT (seen it re released recently, mainly a black van on the box art). So useful things, if the wheels and tyres etc are not right from the kit. I know its a big vague. I do want to get in the future the AMT rescue van, i know it comes in red and white, one with and one without windows (although not sure which has which).

Engine wise i usually do kerbside, so no use to me. oh i have a Johan red ambulance long thing, no idea of year or what it is, but seen things looking like this in tv shows, CHiPs etc and thought i would like to make one so i got the kit, any improvements would be great for that.

Sorry a lot of its vague, i just want to improve my builds with more acc items (i know all after market stuff for military, and what kits need what improvements etc) but cop car kits etc not really.

thanks for the help :-)

Jules,

You may want to go to Google Images and try "Modelhaus" and the part you are looking for. Many folks will post photos of their builds along with a description of the aftermarket parts used.

trouble i dont know what im after. LIke i said i dont know what i need. Like i have the Johan 68 Fury, but what parts he does do i really need to replace for acc or much better detail, that sort of thing. I cant afford just to go and get one of each.

I have the Johan fire hearse thing, i have no idea what it is, and again no idea what he has that would help improve it.

70's Ford AMT, same problem-maybe better wheels or something else that would improve the build, I literally have no idea.

Jules,

Many of the Modelhaus's parts are to replace parts that may have been lost or damaged. Some, like the wheel covers for the Impalas, Crown Vics, and Caprices are to add to models to replicate 1:1 vehicles whose parts were never included or didn't exist for a particular kit. I might suggest frequenting forums where the members build similar vehicles of interest to yours. There you can usually find discussion about what IS available, from whom, AND PHOTOS! PM me if you have questions about specific emergency vehicles. Here is a Google search link that I did to locate photos of the Modelhaus 1991 "plastic wheelcovers" to build a replica of my Squad's Command vehicle: https://www.google.com/search?q=modelhaus+1991+chevy+caprice+plastic+wheel+covers&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=M0TcU5j8M4ahyASZ14DYAQ&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAg&biw=1366&bih=643#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=DShFfyF65T2NEM%253A%3BoE8t-QGTvrMzlM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fimages32.fotki.com%252Fv1107%252Fphotos%252F1%252F1025640%252F4416181%252F91mom-vi.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.modelcarsmag.com%252Fforums%252F%253Fshowtopic%253D32016%3B648%3B433 HTH.
