RonnieIsaacs Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 This is only my 2nd car model in my adult life since I was probably 10 years old. I learned alot on this model to make them better and easier in the future. Anyways enjoy the photos. Thanks for looking
promoman Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Nice, great engine detail. Not sure if you are familiar with Bare Metal Foil or not,it makes the trim stand out. Paint is nice.
RonnieIsaacs Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 Yeah I hadn't got none yet I am wanting to try it, I now have a stack on car models here so looks like I am getting into car modelling to, LOL. I am going to be ordering some BMF soon, I tryed some aluminum foil but I couldn't get it to work, I think I just need some practice.
Maxicoop Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Super lookin' Chevelle !!!!!!!!!! and don't worry it's like riding a bike you never forget completely ...... sometimes it's just hard remembering how you did it when you were a kid .....LOL awesome build for starting over as va BIG KID .....
TooOld Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Looks really good Ronnie ! Your paint and engine detailing look great . Forget the aluminum foil and buy some BMF , I'm guessing you'll be pretty good at it !
DynoMight Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 looks pretty cool! Until you get your BMF, you can paint the trim silver, just keep the line steady.
Byron5150 Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Looks great man. My models sucked when I was younger now only 22. But I've learned with patience and inspiration you can make one heck of a model. Great job what blue is that? Btw for BMF you buy aluminum tape for about the same price and you will have way more for your models. If you decide to use BmF in the future
RonnieIsaacs Posted August 1, 2014 Author Posted August 1, 2014 Thanks for the positive response everyone. And to Byron the blue is called Brilliant Blue by Spectra over a Vallejo silver base with Future over it. I got the spectra paint at Michaels we was over there and they had it on clearence for less then a dollar a bottle so I bought a bunch of diffrent colors of it just to practice with.
Johnny1973 Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 (edited) Very good job on the Chevelle.great engine detail. Edited August 1, 2014 by Johnny1973
Speedfreak Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Nice job Ronnie, engine bay looks great, metal finish on engine parts is very nice. (plug wires might be a bit over-sized though, not sure). Glad to see you back into models, looking forward to your future builds.
Helix Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Nice one Ronnie, yeah BMF would make this build look even better
Danno Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Good start. he BMF will make your models look SO MUCH BETTER! This one needs the trim and some mirrors. And, you need to downsize the plug wires and alternator wiring. But otherwise, good start!
RonnieIsaacs Posted August 3, 2014 Author Posted August 3, 2014 To some of the comments thanks alot. As for the plug wires they was almost exact scale to the engine I was trying to replicate. The wire shielding is huge which is why they was so big. As for the Alternator wire i was trying to make it appear to have the big 3 but it failed on me horribly LOL. This whole model was built with stuff I found around the house and the kit. I didn't order any wiring or anything yet. The only thing I bought was a pack of aluminum tubing from hobby lobby. Before I start on my next car I am going to order some wiring, BMF, etc. Also I had the mirrors finished and ready to go on and decided at the last minute not to put them on. I liked the look better without them. Just personal preference on this particular car I suppose.
Dragfreak Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Sure some things look out of scale, but it looks like a great start, it's very clean and overall, a well built model
1 bad55 stan Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Looks pretty good to me,Glad to see your back at the bench..Well done...
