As it says... "The finest known copy of the most sought after comic book in the world"...

I guess if you're a comic book collector, that's worth a bob or two. Makes $38 million for a beautiful piece of fantastic engineering with real history seem like a good deal, though...

DC has reprinted it several times now. It's a lot more affordable that way. And that way it's okay to take it out a read it. I don't buy stuff because they are collectable or valuable. I only buy things I can use and enjoy. If the reprint or (in the case of models) reissue is basically the same as the original, I'm pretty happy.

How do we know this is an original and not a reprint?

How can the pages of a 75-year old comic book, printed on cheap paper, not have turned yellow?

I think that is more likely that its being bought for an investment. At least when a painting is bought it can be hung on the wall. You wouldn't even be able to do that becuse of the fear of it fading.

Since this was the last item I viewed on Ebay every now and then I'll see ads from ebay saying "If your still interested in this item...". Sure Ebay, let me just dig out a spare two million.
