Hey guys, I'm a fellow (newbie) model builder , I've been collecting die cast models since I was little but recently I got into building plastic models, a few years ago, I currently have an 84 Honda Civic 3 door model that I mostly completed (didn't paint the interior but rattle canned the body ...this model wasn't supposed to be perfect anyway). I have a question too, does anyone know where I can get some miniature "Hellaflush" "Fat lace" "Illest" stickers for my Civic? Thanks in advance!

Yes the rear wheels are cambered lol.

Also the paint did crack and I wound up using the wrong masking tape, finally this is the first model I've actually ever painted so I wasn't expecting it to look perfect. But my next model should look better, learned from my mistakes ha.

Welcome! Your on the right track. You are building and already thinking about what you can do to make the next model better. There are a lot of posts on painting and decaling in the tips section of this forum and that is a great place to start. Did you camber the rear to emulate the lowriders?

I don't know about the east coast but a lot of the lowrider builders here on the left coast do their decorations with paint. Very few do decals. There are a couple of revell Lowrider kits that have decals like you are looking for. You might go to a contest and look among the venders. I would bet there are a couple there that have that sort of stuff.

Just for the record, personally, the lowrider stuff is not anything that interests me, but I really appreciate their art. A lot of work and creativity.

Thanks for the advice man and yes I did camber the wheels to pay a bit of homage to the stance/low rider community. The negative camber is a popular trend with imports.

Welcome to the board! It's cool that you built a model of your own car. I don't know the stickers you are talking about, but a lot of us make our own on our printers. They can be done on pressure sensitive labels, or on decal stock you can get at the hobby shop for water slide decals. And the guys on this board will guide you along the steps.

You can also print out your own license plates. http://www.acme.com/licensemaker/ Check out this site. You can do Maryland plates with your plate number on them. Once you save the image, it will be large, but you can scale it down to print the right size. I am assuming that since you are a young guy, that you are computer literate!

There is a good model club in Maryland, the Maryland Auto Modelers Association (MAMA) who call themselves the Mama's Boys. They meet a bit south of you, but well worth the ride to go to their meetings. I can think of several of their members who are into tuners and such.
