so much difefrent style floorjacks .. the general version has got those tiny coaster wheels in the back .. if i would make those scale wise they would be soo tiny and because my idea was to make it so it can take the weight of all my models without collapsing .. i made bigger rear wheels ..
thet are not fixed wheels on the back there is a shaft where the wheel is on and that sits under the mount plate .. so in theory thats where they would swivvel ..
added a side bracket and sprayed primer .. i already shot color on it 10 minutes ago .. but that will come later its dry time now :)

and it does take the weight of all my models here is a shot with the surf woody ...
the plan is to put it in the dio in such a way i can always put a car resting on the jack , so for future modelcars i have a cool picture spot

thnx guys

i removed the steel pipe for the electric wires going from the wall to the lift .. thats now fed trough the floor

the spots that where damaged when removing the piping i dressed up ..

on top a air vent .. thats drilled open so daylight can be seen through the vent ..

on the bottom above the sink i put a wooden strip and made a sign > maid on strike clean up after yourself (lol)

Man that is so nice. Like that you took out the electrical feed to the lift. Seemed out of place to me and was a bit distracting.

Carry on mate.

yes i know a nother guy was ranting about that (in a fun / nice way lol) for a while .. now that i had more smalld etails it started too look to bulky and it did take away a lot of sight .. so in the end i got rid of it :)

yes i agree .. but it needed something , added 2 bolts in the housing , brass ribbed power line with a distribution box (looked better then a curved line) and a turn switch below (not done yet)

on tv i saw how they painted a dash in a way it looked like real wood , the guys from kindigit did that ... i loved seeing that !!
when i fund a styrene surfboard in my partsbox last night i got the idea to try that in scale ... paint it so it looks a close to real wood as possible .. kind of a test
so i sanded it right away in matte beige .. later on when it was dry i painted normal wood stain over it (red-ish) , the stuff you use around the house for real wood .
then with a woooden meat stick (sate) with sharp point i randomly made some grain in the stain ...
10458429_579052418894339_519043681904741
this morning i polished the stain with a soft (moist) cloth to get the stickyness off .. then took dark brown oil paint and started washing the board to give it more nuance and tones
and then i started thinking ...lately i used clear tape on signs instead of clear coat ... this protects the print and clear will go into the paper and makes the print blurry ..
but the clear tape gives suck a consistant smooth glossy surface .. why not try to 3-d wrap the board in clear tape ?
put the clear tape on
10934076_579052428894338_767230489361901
tape and the grain i made
10922680_579052442227670_450050195048458
now with a lighter at a bit of distance i heated the tape so it got softer and wrapped it around the edges and stuck it on the backside .. when cooled down took a blade and cut away the excess tape
1743701_579052465561001_6991860441702584
this was the result > after this i heated the edges slightly and smoothened the curves some more

10404267_579052482227666_649570786849611
then i laid it on the real (stained) wood of my office ... and whell it kind of looked scary similair
10931340_579052508894330_440248591426186
even the grain looked similair , could be awsome to try this on a woody build

i had 2 of these boards one is on my ford surf woody .. i searched for the second set of decals .. found the nose peice and that was actually what i needed .
the decal originally covers the whole board and then you dont see the wood effect .. so put the nose piece on and found a set of decals froma nother kit with a hanson decal and cut that out and put it on the rear ..
makes it much more exiting

made some axle stands , medium sized , done them rough on purpose and pt dark metal coat on them , polished them and then gave the a very mild layer of surface rust .. just rough and not so much sticking out / popping

i still did not have a decent shop logo , i knew i wanted to use richrods speedshop (not garage) ...

the surfboard gave me the idea to make a oval shoplogo and that worked great ..

i designed the logo and gave the base (red) some grain to mimick flakes ,, played a bit with fake shine using light and dark ...

glued it on a piece of plastic and with a spavcer put it on the edge of the office
