kymdlr Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 I used the majority of the revell 2009 Srt Challenger to recreate a 2010 RT model. The "R/T" stripes are from the amt kit. I replaced the kit motor with a 5.7 v8 from a chrysler 300. I opened and hinged the drivers door as best as I could, remind me not to do that again. Paint is tamiya met. blue which is close but just a little bit darker than the factor B5 blue. I detailed the interior, but in a rush to assemble didnt take any pictures. the center console has carbon fiber decals attached to the cup holders and chrome on the ear shift like the 1:1.
Harry P. Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Not usually a fan of the giant wheel look, but in this case it works pretty well. Maybe because I've always liked chrome 5-spoke wheels... Also, a beautiful color choice. But... I see some major problems with the fit of the hood and the windshield. You probably should have resolved those issues, not just "build around them." And finally... not so sure that the "SIXPACK" plates make any sense on this car...
CJ1971 Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 I'm with Harry on this one. Looks like you've inserted the windshield in incorrectly? I've built a couple of these Challengers & they're not without fitting issues but can be resolved prior to putting it all together ?? Love the colour too ?

The windshield has some fit issues for sure, actually the whole body had some fitment issues after i opened the door and built the door jambs. The six pack makes sense to me as its a throwback to the challengers of the 70's.

Roadrunner Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Very nice color, and it looks like you applied it well.
kilrathy10 Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 One good looking ride you got there, Man...One good looking ride.....All the right touches.....Great job on opening the door....
kymdlr Posted February 14, 2015 Author Posted February 14, 2015 Thank you all for your comments. This is one of my favorite builds. If I come across another Challenger Kit Im going to make another without the trouble of opening the door this time!
kymdlr Posted February 15, 2015 Author Posted February 15, 2015 Nice build! Is that your B5 1:1? Yes. Love it.
Mopar - D Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Ron great build nothing like being able to building your 1:1. The B5 is one of the best colors for the Challenger. Just FYI you can get a 10 oz spray can of the B5 to get the exact color.
