Would have also accepted Linda Ronstadt, as she also recorded it and I'm pretty sure that her album that it's on sold WAY more than Zevon's. That is a fantastic song. I would love to hear someone do it on American Idol or The Voice, but there is NO WAY you could broadcast those lyrics on a mainstream TV show today. The lyrics would have to be completely rewritten--and the song title too.
