Creepy song! Harry.

The first mate he got drunk

The constable had to come and take him away

I know, I know - easy going tonight. And you are right, of course B)

Any suggestions for post #2901 while you're at it?

It is scandalous! - Not so much for listening to Zeppelin as per se (to each his own), but putting down Ramones. That is not right!

The Ramones did a cover version, the original is from the 60s.

This is the "real" version... the one I was thinking of but couldn't remember the band...

I have a vague recollection of that being used in a commercial in the '70s or '80s. In fact I think just NOW is the first time I've ever heard the whole song.

That was also a Cover. Joe Jones was the first to release a version of California Sun, although I do like the Rivrieras version the best.

When Punk and Disco in the Mid/Late 70's took over "Rock" I went to Country. Now days I ain't sure where that's headed..........

Trivia question: What other fairly well-known rock song is, according to its own writer, pretty much a direct ripoff of Little Red Corvette?
