Every morning youd see him arrive at the mine. he stood 6'6" and weighed 245. He kinda broad at the shoulders and narrow and the hips. Everybody knew you didn't give no lip

... what do you get

Another day older and deeper in debt

Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go

I owe my soul to the company store

My grandparents and mother grew up in coal mining country. That was practically the National Anthem of the Hollers. (To this day, watching Justified can sometimes get me a little misty-eyed.)

16 Tons by Tennessee Ernie Ford

Too easy I guess. Tennessee Ernie Ford apparently didn't write it, or record it first, although he did have a major hit with it. :)

Sure did, it's a blessing and a curse, I can recall the lyrics to pretty much any song I've ever heard....which means I have a bunch of Disco garbage trapped in my head, whether I like it or not!

Can't be. Didn't have anything about a "dee-luxe apartment in the sky" in it.:lol:

Train roll on many miles from my home,
See, I'm riding my blues away.
Tuesday, you see, she had to be free
But somehow I've got to carry on

Geez. Shall we continue with the movie bit?

She needs a man

She's been without one for so long

She needs a man

Someone big and oh so strong

Lord, I think she needs Superman...

Hint: VHS only. An Armenian guy sings it.

Lois Lane Blues - Phil Kachaturian

From the former soundtrack of Gone in 60 Seconds. (Thanks a lot, Denise.)

We've been here too long tryin' to get along
Pretendin' that you're oh, so shy
I'm a natural ma'am doin' all I can
My temperature is runnin' high

Count me as impressed, I've seen quite a few bar bands attempt that song and screw it up badly when those notes come up!

And when your looks are gone and you're alone

How many nights you sit beside the phone

What were the things you wanted for yourself

Teenage ambition you remember well
