The Candy Stripes were Candy Tangerine...You may be "late" in your words but after decaling the body, it was placed aside and I haven't done much more to it. Thanks for sharing though. I need to get back to this along with alot of others that I have painted but not been able to assemble.
DumpyDan Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 That looks good, bet you having a good time with this one
Tye Brown Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) Does anyone know if these decals are still available man? Edited January 10, 2017 by Hippie Dude
mr68gts Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Does anyone know if these decals are still available man? They are not. They were produced by Chuck who sadly no longer is with us. Best bet is if you happen to find them on the bay or something is to snap them up. I have a set myself and they are not available.
Vietnam Vet67 Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) The Duster belonged to Ted Flack along with Howard Comstock. I worked with Ted at Dodge Motorsports for over 40 years doing NASCAR and NHRA engine testing and development. See picture. Edited January 10, 2017 by Vietnam Vet67
caine440 Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 I used the decals from the Ramchargers Challenger Funny car mixed with Slixx and a few homemade.

Alan Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 (edited) I have had those in the works for a while, along with my build ....... the decals will be coming soon Alan Edited January 11, 2017 by Alan
gtx6970 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Cool, And using an MPC body at that . I like it
Alan Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Yes, IMHO the MPC better captures the correct look of the Cuda than the Rev. kit. Also used MPC Cuda interior tub , partial Johan Cuda chassis, partial Mon. Challenger chassis and the hood from the Mon. Cuda. Many of my own scratch built and resin cast parts are in this as well .....
TarheelRick Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Really enjoy these type builds, 60's - 70's Superstocks, ProStocks were my favorite racers, well I really dug the Gassers, but they were phasing out in the early 70's. However, there is one thing I have never understood. How could a Hemi-powered Cuda or Challenger be classified as D/SA? What would have run in A/SA?

However, there is one thing I have never understood. How could a Hemi-powered Cuda or Challenger be classified as D/SA? What would have run in A/SA?Actually, a Hemi powered E Body would run in A/SA or B/SA. Convertibles would fall into B/SA or C/SA. Don't get confused with Super Stock classifications where Hemi E Bodies would run in SS/DA or SS/EA.Other cars that you might find in A Stock would include 427 Fairlanes, 396 and 427 Camaros, and 426 Max Wedge Mopars.
TarheelRick Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Actually, that was my intended question. How could a Hemi powered E Body run in SS/DA? That has got to be one of the lightest, highest horsepower combinations available.
6bblbird Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Hemi E bodies were not light compared to many other cars. Rated at 425 hp, they had to weigh close to 4000 lbs (with driver) to be class legal for D and E. By comparison, a LO 29 ( Race Hemi) Dart weighed close to 3200 lbs (with driver) and was rated by the NHRA at 500 horsepower. It's all about factored horsepower to weight ratios. 1964 and 1965 426 Race Hemi B bodies were also lighter than the 'cudas and Challengers and ran in SS/B and SS/C. There were no cars that fit into SS/A and SS/AA in 1968 and 1969. No car had a high enough horsepower rating or was light enough to fit into that slot. Eventually, the Hemi Darts and Barracudas did fit into the class and were the sole occupants for many years.
caine440 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I would love to build a model of Pail Rossi's Challenger. I beleive it ran SS/FA with a 440+6.Saw it run many times back in the day at the Spring Nationals in Ohio. Thanks for posting Walter.
6bblbird Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 You are correct Roger. That was a six pak car. I should have remembered that having run one myself. I believe that car wound up over seas in a Scandinavian country .
W-409 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I believe that car wound up over seas in a Scandinavian country . Yep, Sylvia Hauser bought it from the States and ran with it in England before she sold it to Sweden to Joakim Mårtensson. It's an older picture, but I'd guess the car is still running strong even though I haven't seen in in a couple of years.
