Roadrunner Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I have done three of these. No glue required (Snap-Tite) even when the box says you need it. I've read some good things about these, and it seems like there are many here being built.
Petetrucker07 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 They are very easy and simple to build. It doesn't take very much work to make these a very nice truck. A little lacking on detail, but a great way to cut your teeth on customizing.
guitarsam326 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Here are some of my recent scores, not all of them but certainly the higher ones on my list.
Old Buckaroo Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 (sigh) Alaskan Hauler and the Doubles.... Good for you Sam, those are some really nice kits !
Superpeterbilt Posted March 7, 2015 Author Posted March 7, 2015 Great score Sam. Im glad to see you finally got an Autocar. Hopefully its the first of many.
guitarsam326 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Great score Sam. Im glad to see you finally got an Autocar. Hopefully its the first of many.. The Autocar isnt my first, just my second, but not the last of many hopefully!
Chuck Most Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) Today was a good day.... The Freightshaker and Diamond REO are the recent Round 2 reissues, but the American LaFrance is a mid '80's reissue. I"m really pleased with the White Western Star, though... it's an original '74 kit... dinky Goodyear tires, crappy decal sheet, crunched box, and all. Edited March 8, 2015 by Chuck Most
cowboy rich Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Great find Clayton been looking for one I could afford for years..congrats
guitarsam326 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) Ladies and Gentlemen, children of all ages. I have for you something as rare as my fellow coworkers actually performing productive work, I present to you the Challenge Mixer, made possible by my good friend from North of the border, Mr. Doug Spencer. Edited March 11, 2015 by guitarsam326
Petetrucker07 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 This is no Challenge mixer, but one I've been wanting for a long time.
Superpeterbilt Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 Cool beans. What you gonna hitch that too Clayton?
Petetrucker07 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 (edited) It's the 38 footer, I had no idea there was 44. I have a Chevy duallie in the stash that I have in mind, but I may have something else. I'm a Chevy guy and I have a hard time buying a Meng F350. But I may do something special. Only time will tell. I need to build the Outlaw newer Camaro to go with it. This should be a nice set up when it's done, someday. Edited March 12, 2015 by Petetrucker07

Chuck Most Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I've had that Dual Drive less than a week, and it's pretty close to finished. No buyer's remorse there. What you don't see is that the interior is done, and the cab is now painted.

Chuck Most Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Dang Chuck! Don't get too excited... when I went to install the interior, the cab seam split. That wouldn't have been so bad, had it not shattered the paint, torn the decals, etc.. So, that one's going to sit on the bench a bit longer until I redo the cab... this time I'll reinforce the seams, and maybe trim down the front and rear of the interior tub just a smidge. I knew things were going a bit too swimmingly on that particular project... In the meantime, the chassis looks pretty sweet just sitting there without the cab.
tbill Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 got an italeri pete 377 A/E in the mail from amazon yesterday, $41, thought that was a good deal.
72 Charger Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Just scored an original Pay Hauler on Ebay For £40 I think that's about $55
tonye66 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 In the last week, I scored an Italeri Superliner, a Coke Louisville Hauler, an original issue Paystar dump, 3 sets of Moebius wheels, and a few sets of 2 hole budds from Double Take. That'll keep me busy for a week or two.....
