afx
Yes exactly. I really like the 18"-19" wheels on the car that was on the picture. Those wheels would go nice on many classic Ford models,Mustang,Torino,Cobra and so on. If you decide to sell kits with no engine there are many nice options on the aftermarket. I wish there excisted any 1:24/25 scale DFV Cosworth. Great progress btw. Fujimi's Dome-O Zero kit has a very nice 1/24 scale DFV Picture here. om617
Fujimi's Dome-O Zero kit has a very nice 1/24 scale DFV Picture here. Thanks for the info. I dont want to hijack this thread, but would it not be illegal to cast this engine?
afx
Thanks for the info. I dont want to hijack this thread, but would it not be illegal to cast this engine? No, I wasn't suggesting that Jeremy cast the Fujimi engine. I was just trying to make you aware of a source for a nice DFV engine.
Jeremy Jon
Thanks Tommy, JC & Mark is one of my favorite all time cars also! Looks great Jeremy. I too have noticed on several period photos that the rear wheels are slightly forward in the wheel opening on both the roadsters and the coupes. Good stuff. Thanks JC, you're right, I also have noticed that, the rear wheels are placed slightly forward within the wheel well housing, presumably for clearance of rearward movement during hard cornering or axle deflection? One more detail to help this final result look as correct as possible!

Thanks Tommy, okay, yes I understand, and agree, I think later to cast a spare body to build a hot rod version would be great The DFV Cossie V8 engines were of course legends, I was thinking perhaps to use the DOHC Shelby Mustang engine? Would be really cool with the DOCH Shelby as well. I just mention the DFV because it`s kinda excotic and would be cool in a road car. High rev and very light. My question as for what JC Reckner answered was intended to be if any know if it`s legal to cast the Fujimi engine, not that anyone should if it`s not. Great progress and quality work as always. Jeremy Jon
Thanks James, Carl & Tommy So far my learning curve for casting has been steep, but getting more confident Enclosing of inner rear fender well areas Nearly completed inner rear fender wells & rear tray area, along with fuel filler cup now an integrated part of chassis (rather than separate white metal component) Rear tray area constructed, with roll bar uprights & braces visible Modifications to rear 3/4 window, as actual car has cut-out air intake, and visible inner fender well panel extending up inside of interior

Thank You for sharing Later Russ Thanks Russ! How do you mean about the AMT Cobra? If you mean will these parts fit that chassis, I don't believe so, at least not without a lot of modification Looks great!!! Thanks Fabrizio! I got three sets of recast Gunze parts in resin ready & on their way to you
Jeremy Jon
Been measuring the donor kit body, and as suspected it's not 1/24 scale, as Gunze has marked on packaging, but in fact 1/25 scale WB = 2286.0mm (90.0") @ 1/24 scale = 95.25mm @ 1/25 scale = 91.44mm Gunze = 91.0mm L = 4216.4mm (166.0") @ 1/24 scale = 175.7mm @ 1/25 scale = 168.7mm Gunze 167.0mm W = 1778.0mm (70.0") @ 1/24 scale = 74.1mm @ 1/25 scale = 71.1mm Gunze = 71.5mm

vamach1
It's a Japanese kit - you're lucky it's not 1/28 scale.

Jeremy Jon
Measuring up the donor kit components, oddly the body is undersized (is really 1/25 scale) the kit wheels are slightly over sized for 1/24 scale? So these will be left as is for our renovation into a full detail 1/24 A visual comparison between the donor Daytona Coupe body (measures as 1/25 scale) and a 1/24 S/C Cobra body, notice the difference in wheelbase measures, is about 5mm difference Okay, so decided that this is going to be constructed to proper 1/24 scale dimensions, we begin by lengthening the chassis (and slightly wider too) As the lower control arms are reattached, they are made visually correct, removing the donor kits extra bars (as shown), and mounting tabs constructed & attached to rails
