Built curbside from the Round2 Fred Lorenzen re-issue, this old kit went together very well except for having to resize the windows to get the interior to fit up inside, and a lack of positive mounting points for front and rear bumpers. I used all of the optional grand national pieces in the kit except the taillight covers - I made my own using stock bezels and sheet styrene.

Paint is Tamiya Clear Red over Tamiya Gold. Plastic Performance Parts wheels and tires. Ace Decals. (Decals don't match side to side as I wanted both versions of Panch's sponsors that season.)

Really nice model.

Reminds me that 1965 is the second to last year of real stock car bodies (batches of 1966 Ford bodies from Holman-Moody were the last).
