Chad Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Great work Chase, do you mind sharing what you used for the sub structure? Awesome idea with the trash bag! Chad
Chaser Posted October 14, 2014 Author Posted October 14, 2014 I used 4 pieces of styrene plastic I beam to make the trailer frame7/16
tbill Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 overall look, spectacular, trash bag use, pure genius!! awesome looking set up, nice job.
scale trucker Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 saweet . and the monocoat works very well and it comes chrome been trying to do fuel tanks with it
vincen47 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Very nice work. What did you use for the air cleaner lights?
Chaser Posted October 15, 2014 Author Posted October 15, 2014 Thanks guys! I use .010 plastic sheets and punched round lights out of it,painted them and then put a small dab of clear apoxy on them
BigBad Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Awesome! Love the lowered look!, great paint scheme, excellent tarped trailer... Striking looks!
Cabover Kid Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Wow, now for the armature question of the day, is that all scratch built? Either way, ur an awesome talent!! Thanks for posting, love it!!
Chaser Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 Thank you! The only thing that is from a kit is the cab. Everything else is scratch built or highly modified. Thanks again.
Modelcollector Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Very nice combo! Do you have pics of the framework under the cover? I would like to do the same with the trash bag but not sure of the framework. Did you use aluminum tubing or styrene and bend to shape?
Chaser Posted November 8, 2014 Author Posted November 8, 2014 It is made out of styrene, here's some pictures.
Petetrucker07 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 A bit off topic comment. That flat top KW peekin back there, you still workin on it?
Petetrucker07 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Cant wait to see it. Im guessin its gonna be stellar. Im tryin to think of what 1:1 show truck you could be replicating.
Chaser Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 thats why its been slow, havent found one I really like. it seems when i fine one, i find another than another. It might just end up being about three put into one.
Petetrucker07 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Thats my problem, why i havent built any of the 379s and 389s i have waiting. Cant decide whos truck i want i to build. I at least built Trevor Hardwicks cabover, the redone version. I may try 1 of James Davis' trucks, really like how low they sit. But then i go to a truck show or the new issue of 10-4 comes out and changes my mind.
highway Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Nice job. I'm not sure how you could get the arch, maybe a little heat might work, but this one is a little too far along to try that! It might be something to experiment with on a later project though. If you are going with the "heavy load" story, I'd drop that front axle down or DOT will be on you like bears (Pun intended) to honey!!
