freightshaker Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Hey guys here's the finished product for the modified kenworth snap and fruehauf trailer I was building. Spread axle air ride working vent doors on the trailer, cut the aerodyne off and put a 36" bunk on. No stretch just simple. Made bumper guides and air cleaner light bars. Put a quilted bunk protector on and custom visor. Thanks for looking. This is one of my favorites that I have built.
kilrathy10 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Great job, Man....I like the smoke.....That's a pretty good idea for this model.....Great job on the spread.....
Petetrucker07 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Very nice job. Looks great, has an early outlaw look to it. That color looks awesome outside.
scummy Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Gee mate , thats the best snap i have seen so far . The sleeper makes all the difference too , sorry but not sure of the big stacks .
slusher Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Super build on truck and trailer. Real nice touch on the smoke...
Jim B Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Very nice conversion to the 36" sleeper. I really like it. Great color, too. Not a big fan of those stacks (but then again it's not my model), and it looks like your engine needs a serious tune-up.
Mackvision Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Like that color combo! very sharp! how hard was it to lose the aerodyne and adapt the 36" bunk? a project I've been thinking about myself..................................Mark
Tesla Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Great looking build and the color and stripes really make it stand out.
freightshaker Posted October 24, 2014 Author Posted October 24, 2014 Hey guys thanks for the compliments, as I stated this is possibly my favorite that I have done just because of the bunk conversion and the paint. Never been a fan of aerodyne sleepers. Mark, the aerodyne removal wasn't too terrible but fixing the cab can be a challenge. Due to the back curver and the Angled cutout from the aerodyne. Best advice for that back of the cab is to cut your piece to fill the hole from the back of the bunk. Experiment is the best way. And Jim, that engine runs just fine she's just loaded heavy and Rollin' coal! Haha
freightshaker Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 Is that steel wool for the smoke? No it's actually cotton balls stretched and misted with gray and black paint
