gray07 Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Has anyone ever made a resin one, growing up as a kid we always had one went almost every weekend during the summers and just wandered if anyone has made one, a closed one. I see them on the highways every where.
1930fordpickup Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Great Question. You could use the trailer from the Revell dirt cars (V8 60 and Kurtis midget)as a good starting point.

goodguyinar416 Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 (edited) I seen one made some time ago using paper towels as the fabric. There are some very strong paper towels that could take the paint, etc. Art Edited November 4, 2014 by goodguyinar416
Lunajammer Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 I've seen some plastic army tents for toy soldiers that would be perfect for the canvas shapes and would be cast-able.
blubaja Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Sounds like a very fun scratchbuilding project! For the canvas tent material, you could use canvas tent material from an old tent. Great Question. You could use the trailer from the Revell dirt cars (V8 60 and Kurtis midget)as a good starting point. I'm not sure what a midget racer trailer has to do with a camper...
jbwelda Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 he was probably talking about using the trailer as a base for a tent trailer sort of thing. not sure if that's a pop up or not but that's what I got from it. jb

Just depending how big of a box you would want the trailer to have. When I say box I am talking about the size of the trailer when it is going down the road and not set up.
blubaja Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Ahh. That sounds decent then! I would rather scratchbuild the trailer too lol.
PatW Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 We have a lot of those on the road here in the UK all of a sudden. If you want to make one you can use the same hinge mech as on opening doors, just have two opposite sides hinged in the base and two in the top, or something like that!
disabled modeler Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 years ago someone offered a Shasta EZ pull behind camping trailer kit from a aftermarket company...man Id love to have one of those and any camping trailers/motor homes in kit form.
