cobraman Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 I really like these AWB kits and have built a few. I'm sure most of you are familiar with these kits. They have a low piece count and go together pretty good. It's just what I need right now. Not sure of the color yet. I have cut the front of the frame forward of the engine and cut some aluminum tube to lengthen the wheelbase a bit. I want to also raise the front ride height kind of like the Nova you see that I built awhile back. Will also replace the front plastic tires and add a pre-wired distributor. Thanks for looking in.
bobthehobbyguy Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Glad to see another project on your bench. Nice start.
cobraman Posted November 10, 2014 Author Posted November 10, 2014 Thanks gents. Trying to get my motivation back.
Speedfreak Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Bring it Ray. I loves me some AWB's. Me too!
vintagercr Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Ray that turned out great. I always disliked the wheelbase with this kit.
cobraman Posted November 11, 2014 Author Posted November 11, 2014 So ok, I'm plugging along on this build and got what you see here done. I had the body primed and ready for paint. Disaster struck like I never saw before. I screwed the paint job up so bad. : ( Anyway, it's soaking and I will have another go at it. Hopefully the next one will be better. ( Couldn't really be worse )
cobraman Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 Thanks ! You wouldn't say that if you saw the paint on the body. : )
bobthehobbyguy Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Interior and chassis look good. We all anger the paint gods once in a while. Just need to give them an offering to keep them happy. What color is the body going to be?
cobraman Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 Was going to be a light Metallic Gray but I think I will go with another color now.
cobraman Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 Felt like doing some building today so I just about finished up the chassis. I have the body back in primer again and may and try and paint it tomorrow. Fingers crossed. : )
cobraman Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 Well the second paint job came out a tad better. I decaled it and set the body on the chassis for a look see. Tomorrow I will shoot on some clear. Then I can finish up the body details and go on to final assembly. Looks like I forgot to remove the wipers. Oh well too late now and I guess I will have to detail them. Seems like I always screw up something anymore,
slusher Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Mustang is looking outstanding Ray. Sorry I have not seen until now friend...
cobraman Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 Thank you Carl. I hope to finish it today or tomorrow.
cobraman Posted November 19, 2014 Author Posted November 19, 2014 This one is done and photos will be in the under glass section soon if interested.
