Thanks Lee!

Well fellas there aint no progress pics for today. I managed to paint the exhaust the base color and will work on the black sections of the pipe tomorrow morning. I did get my chrome BMF on order today though!!!!! :D Other than that I just started on the drivers seat by finishing the seam removal and painting it up black. Maybe some pics tomorrow of some real progress........

Joe your moving forward with great detail. Your going to need your BMF also for the trim work on the Chellenger they still had a lot in 1970.

Thanks Dan!!! I just ordered the BMF today. I forgot that the BMF I had was the matte aluminum stuff.

Thanks Tom! I wanted to get more done today but wasn't moving around as well as I do most mornings. I'll probably have something more tomorrow buddy!!

Not much of an update but here we are with the exhaust most of the way done. I applied the base color yesterday and shot the black sections and colored the inside of the drilled out exhaust tips black this morning. I'm now waiting on the BMF to come in the mail to put the finishing touches on this. I painted the seats this morning and will tinker around with those a little more before posting pics of them.

Here's the exhaust thus far:

Bonus build time today as I'm off of work! Original front seats done after taking the backs off , removing flash, reassembly , seam filling and painting and then a coat of semi-gloss finish to top things off. I tried a wash and didn't like it after the painting process so I repainted before the final semi-gloss coat.

Thanks Dan! My BMF will be here on Thursday from Sprue Brothers so I'll be able to get back on the exhaust and finish it. Until then I've been working on the interior. I kept all the original parts to the interior and freshened it all up a bit. The Dodge logo on the inside door panel that I had painted red, yellow and blue at an earlier age got repainted the silver color it is supposed to be and have applied a uniform coat onto the door so it's less sloppy looking. The same went for the rest of the interior.

Anyways here we go:

After: (the scuffed up portion at the front of the door panels will be hidden by the dash when installed).

Much improved interior !

The only nit that I can pick is the doorpanels ; in particular , the chromed trim around the "wood" embellishment :

woops ! I attached the wrong image originally . Here's the correct image :

Here's a little-known option : bench seat !

In-so-far-as your beautiful exhaust rehibilitation ; remember that the mufflers are black on the T/A and AAR models . They were painted black from the factory ; the only cars to have this treatment given to them .

Keep up the great work !

Nicely done freshening up on the interior Joe. Exhaust is really coming along to. John is right about the mufflers on the TA and AAR models being black right out of the factory, usually a high temp matt black at that. Take it from a old chrysler corp guy, not alot of people seem to know or remember that lol. But it's nice to see some do.

Dang John! Thanks for the reference photos! Man I totally didn't see that! Something else I missed was the wood grain shifter handle....Jeez!! The door panels I'm liable to leave alone because it would require removing the seats and door panels (which wouldn't be easy this time around since I've got those suckers in to stay) and thank you again for taking the time to offer a reference and helpful suggestion. I will handle the shifter though. Its alot easier to get to and will make some difference in the overall interior.

Jim: Thanks for the kudos and for the heads up on the mufflers! Every car I see has the regular "silver" color to the mufflers. I'm currently researching for photos on that. If anyone has any pics of it that would be helpful as I'm finding it hard to come up with those. lol

Carl: Thank you sir! I will be foiling the tips but painting the mufflers black. Chrome BMF should be here on Thursday.

I did manage to get the shifter handle color corrected. I ended up just replacing the lever and painting.

As for pics of the exhaust I did come up with a couple:

Well I spent most of the morning(appr 40 minutes) masking off and painting the exhaust. I'll be waiting on the paint to dry and then apply matte aluminum BMF to the hanger strap on each muffler. After that we're waiting on the chrome BMF to complete the exhaust tips that is now scheduled to be here on Friday instead of today. Well that blew all hopes of having the exhaust done by Friday morning! waiting-929.gif Oh well...........it is what it is.

The exhaust as of now:

and an updated shot of the interior with the dash in place and the shifter handle corrected:(I guess I deleted the pic with the handle visible! dope-slap_zpsczvt2ke8.gif). Will take one tonight as I'm out of time this morning. Gotta go to work you know.gagging-928.gif

Looking good. One suggestion, BMF. On the window cranks and door latch handles.

Joe glad your BMF arrived I find that once I start installing BMF I have to keep at it until I'm finished with all of it. Looking forward to see tomorrow's updates.

Great job on the interior and exhaust Joe. Man I think we both started our projects around the same time.. seems like ions ago don't it. Sometimes I ask myself, "is this thing ever gonna get done?" lol, but I keep plugin away at it. Do ya ever get to feeling that way? bet ya do lol. Anyways like I said, nice work so far my friend.
