afx Posted July 24, 2015 Author Posted July 24, 2015 (edited) As promised here is a small update. Glass is installed. If you recall I cut my own windows from clear acetate. I left the door windows open to allow a better view of the interior. Painted the window gaskets with black Sharpie. Painted the headlight bezels and installed the protective screen in the oil cooler opening. Edited July 24, 2015 by afx
Speedfreak Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Looking good JC, paint looks much better rubbed out, has more depth.
mustang1989 Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Been away for a bit and had to come check this out. Everything looks great so far JC! That paint job rocks dude!
afx Posted July 24, 2015 Author Posted July 24, 2015 Thanks Gene & Joe. With the glass installed I should be able to mount the body onto the chassis for the final time.

afx Posted July 29, 2015 Author Posted July 29, 2015 I tried to send you a video, looked like it worked, but it's not anywhere in PM's.Nothing came through Shay. Someone suggested a work around to post photos. The grill photos is now up.
afx Posted July 29, 2015 Author Posted July 29, 2015 Thanks Carl. Here we have front bumpers installed.
dublin boy Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Will you have the four spot lamps?I think it looks better without them, just my opinion.
afx Posted July 30, 2015 Author Posted July 30, 2015 Will you have the four spot lamps?I think it looks better without them, just my opinion. My original intention was to have the spot lamps. I need to get them painted and see what they look like. I might even go with just the (2) upper ones.
mustang1989 Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 That grille and the bumpers look great JC! I really like how this ones coming along. Nice work!
afx Posted August 13, 2015 Author Posted August 13, 2015 Final pictures before I race car it up with all the sponsor decals. That's my pet fly on the roof - such a ham.
GlueTube Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I believe the essence has been captured! Great work Sir! RegardsBrian Kroon
Mr.Zombie Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Can you still carefully draw/paint a very thin silver line around the Ford logo? It took me a while til I noticed, but there was something "wrong with it".Furthermore, these grilles were either with the middle stripe and a chromed frame, or all plastic in black. So either a frame around it or paint the silver stripes black. I'd go for the frame if you still can, and if it fits your documentation, it gives the car more character.

I am aware the grill is not 100% accurate but I'm happy with it. I hope to complete this build soon.
afx Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 (edited) Nothing really has changed Joe but here are the most recent photos of where the build stands. My friend, Marcos Cruz took these pictures and got a little artsy with the camera angles. Edited December 4, 2015 by afx
mod3l Lover Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 (edited) My clear body Escort had a casting deformity in the front edge of the roof. I had to repair it with putty to make the kit buildable. When I build it I am going to paint the body. You could do a half clear and half painted kit! That would be real cool. I did a Richard PettyCharger kit that way back in the 70's. David S.Oh, . . and by the way, that Escort is lookingcompletely awesome!! Edited December 4, 2015 by mod3l Lover
Del Austin Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Looks great.Knowing how basic this kit is I am really impressed by this build.
